    Yeah, the official line-up is:

With some unofficial side tournaments. I imagine the Friday stream will be all SSFIVAE and the Saturday will be all MvC3, because that's what people want to see. All the finals will be streamed, though.

I don't know much about fight pads, I personally use this (I have a custom on order that was due here about 6 weeks ago)... A friend of mine brought the Madcatz Street Fighter Pad and seemed to like it, but I didn't like the d-pad as you really needed to force it down. Sowwy.

i really want to get a fightpad to start out with, but i want one with a usb cable, not wireless, and those things don't seem to exist for the PUSS3. the hori stick looks pretty cheap, but can it stand up to TE sticks?

if you're asking for a reason to go when robots can do the job, then the distance is completely irrelevant. i'm just pointing out that with that mindset, climbing everest or whatever would also be a waste of time, however tall it is, but people have been explorers for as long as there have been people. the reason, as edmund hillary said, should be 'because it's there'.but anyway, i'd still rather see more probes sent to titan and europa if you've got limited funds, you'd potentially get far better rewards : cost/risk.

robots have no real catch because they don't need to return. once they are out, they can stay out.

oh and everest didn't require surpassing the speed of light to climb. just saying.

EDIT: keep in mind that i'm not saying explorers are bad, i consider myself one (or at least i suffer from a serious case of wanderlust), i'm just not getting carried away because i know it'll be a long time before we invent anything capable of surpassing the speed of light.

but then why climb everest, trek to the poles or sail around the world? obviously national pride played a part back then, but landing on the moon was the biggest achievement in human history, mars would be that x100.

i don't think you realize the difference in distance. mt everest is ~5 kms tall, the entire world around the equator spans around 40 000 kms. space is 100 times that for just our nearest potentially inhabitable planet, nevermind the milky way or deep space. i mean there's a reason it's called a light year, and there's a reason that distance is not fathomable by the human goddamn mind.

if you don't want other games to start doing this, stop enabling them by buying it on other distribution systems. the only way publishers like EA will understand is through sales numbers from a specific distributor (no offense rick, ill be buying the game, but i'm not going to install origin or some other shit to play it).

why would they do it? there's no space race or cold war that forces competition to get a manned craft to mars. there is nothing on mars we can't find with robots, and possibly nothing we'd need humans for there in the first place. maybe for colonization, but that is seriously far fetched.

It just makes no sense to send people where the job can be done better, faster, and more safely by a robot. No risk of human life. No one sitting in a can for months/years during transit. And you don't have to worry about getting it back, the robot can just hang out there for eternity. The moon, and maybe Mars are the only reasonable places for a human to go. Neither has anything to do with the space shuttle, though.

just finished singularity. i enjoyed it, there's a nice pacing/balance in the gameplay between gunfights and puzzles/stealth/etc., which is what most modern shooters are missing imo. the story is sort of weird and not really easy to understand, and it seems they cross a few time paradoxes to get to the end point. and it's really merciless in not giving you options to change shit except for controls, and even then it's sparse with the options. also not including subtitles in a game like this when the music is banging loud at all times should be considered a crime. but whatever, gameplay was enjoyable, so that still gives the game a small plus from me.

How much did the Diablo fans in the room enjoy Torchlight? I played it for a few hours and fear that either this kind of game has lost its appeal for me, or Torchlight was just missing something that Diablo had. I remember being hardcore addicted in highschool/college.

torchlight was just straight up bad. and boring. d2, in comparison, still rocks.

Started my yearly replay of Diablo 2 last night with friends, playing a Necro for the first time.

haha, i thought i was the only one doing shit like that. well ok, it's been about 3 years now, but i used to do it. specifically, i used to set goals for myself, like a really hard runeword on closed, ladder battle.net and how long it would take me to get it starting with nothing and no characters. last time i did phoenix and it took me about 2 and a half weeks.
