UE4 baby! Could always team up if people don't know how to create assets, have 1 LD/scripter and 1 env art dude.
-
I was only kidding! DF is one game I've always wanted to sit down and play, but I've never got round to it!
-
Graphics still look like shit, bloody programmer art.
-
Hmm I need to look into that then, because opening the uv editor takes ages both at home and at work. That's using the old DX drivers though, Im not a fan of the Nitrous stuff, but maybe its just because im not used to it.
-
That's insane! Looks amazing

-
Yeah Max still does have its downsides. Even opening the UV editor takes ages now, and I find it really slow coming out of sub-object modes too for some reason.

I hope so dude! Maya is horrible in comparison, especially for architectural stuff.

I would get into Max, as it is very widely used. Either that or Maya; Maya is used just as much as Max, and there are rumours that autodesk might be discontinuing Max soon, not sure how true that is though.
Then try learning how to do some basic modelling, try cgtuts++. Your first model will probably be crap, but export it and get it into Source and learn the engine export workflow. Then just keep practicing. Good luck!

And then it will all come full circle and they'll rename Watchdog to Assassin's Creed: Watchdogs.
-
Yeah I've been looking into Substance which seems to be a much quicker version of Ddo. Got a free copy of it on Steam, gonna give it a go!

Hahaha brilliant. Sounds like a case for Sherlock:
'The mysterious case of the Parisian supermarket shite'.
-
Anyone been using this at all? I've used it quite a lot at work, and to be honest I'm not really a big fan. Quite a lot of the time, I end up just not using Ddo because I end up waiting ages for layers to update or whatever, and I just find it quicker to work in Photoshop. I'm probably just using it wrong, or maybe I'm just one of those annoying old school people now

Edit - To clarify, I have been making a lot of concrete/brick/tile materials, nothing particularly metallic/plastic, so maybe that's why I'm not getting the most out of this. It seems to be good for individual props or very unique assets more so than other environment work.

The more I think of this, the more pissed off I get at CA and Sega. They're just trying to nab as much money as they can.. Which I guess is understandable, but.. I dunno, I just hate the idea of having content locked away that was made during production of the main game.

Awesome!! I never played Grim Fandango, and I can't wait to try this version. I got a copy a few years ago, and it ran like shit on my computer and looked awful, so I didn't bother. I didn't want to ruin my first time playing it. Excited

Post-apocalyptic game of some sort.

Looks like they made Joel more grey haired too. Weird.
