World champion in Maracana. Brazil beaten 7:1. It will never get better. That realisation that from now on its all downhill (football fan wise). I don't expect Germany to get ever get world champ again in my lifetime. But tonight i don't care.

Pretty dull game to be honest but well done Germany! I was routing for Germany the whole Tournament. I was half right for the final, was betting on Holland.

As one huge football fan and neighbor to another, enjoy my friends! You deserved it. I only have Euro 1988 too look back on but I was 5 and only remember little. That doesn't mean they haven't given us a lot over the past decades and it fills my heart with pride to see that such a small country can achieve great things. I do however hope, that I too, just as you, get to witniss us winning that World Cup once. Not because of greed but because I think we deserved it. But enough about us, this is your moment. So, for the next four years, oh correction, two because we'll see you at Euro 2016, all I can say is:

Netherlands is long overdue for a world cup. All rivalry aside you deserve it. I root for Netherlands when Germany doesn't play. Probaly no consolation to you but in a way Germany's win is also in part due to Netherlands. When Germany was at the bottom after Euro 2000/2004 they looked to the Netherlands model to improve youth football. If Brazil is smart they will do the same. When a small country can stay relevant in football for decades then so can a big football nation when only they put their focus where it's important.

PHEW! That was a tense, hard-fought and balanced final. I was worried till the very end that the Germans get soo close to winning the whole thing - only to be disappointed again. Then out of all players Götze scores during the extra-time. Unbelievable. A dream come true. I think the cup victory was well-deserved - if not even overdue. I'm especially happy for Klose and the other older players. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got a hangover to treat now
