It would be neat if there were multiple facial expressions.

I had to restart the game due to a bug like this... then later in the game one mission/story branch totally got messed up, then I got bored and quit playing it. Still a good game, though... just too many bugs.

Yeah this looks absolutely awful, almost sub b material.
Anthony Bourdain is an extra in it though and gets shot up. lol

I only played the shareware version of this game, but it was pretty revolutionary to me at the time. It was called strife and you could converse with npc's, buy weapons, armor, etc. Almost a pseudo rpg/fps. The game world was pretty unique.

Anyone remember this? I always wished I had bought it because I had so much fun w/ the demo.

May be a dumb question, but did you try adjusting the variables?

pre-rendered shadows doesn't really bother me... probably means there isn't going to be any kind of day-night cycle, though.

I also have trouble with the jumping. It seems like half the time I just can't even jump. On el paso, even trying to jump on a porch that is only like 10 inches tall requires you sit there and try 3 or 4 times before you can actually jump up there. It's just really annoying and gets me killed all the time because I get stuck trying to jump up something that I could just as easily should be able to walk over.

Remington 1100?
My only suggestion is to add the cocking lever and maybe add some more polys to the bevel on the stock. However, that might not be necessary if it isn't going to be used as a world model.
Keep it up.
Edit: you can also extend the handguard furniture further in the rear to where it is flush with the receiver, it will save you some polys too.

I bought the max payne package, I never got around to playing mp2.

I played it for about an hour today, it was pretty damn fun. Gun speed could be sped up a bit but I don't see it as that big of a problem and I didn't hear anyone complaining about it.
My only gripe is the whole loot thing. Everyone I played with didn't seem to care or know what to do and were to busy killing each other to bother with it. I didn't really grasp it that well myself.
I think a cool way to do it would be more of an attack/defend style or even something like where the bandits have to steal something from point A and take it to point B and have the vigilantes trying to stop them. Bottom line is the main gametype needs some major adjusting or tweeking.
Also you guys should really add more gunsmoke, like tons of it. These were the days before smokeless powder afterall.

this thread has been very helpful. I need to upgrade my core gaming rig as well. Please, if anyone has more recent upgrade experiences to share, please do!
My advice is to wait for nvidia's next generation card, and get whatever else is new at that point.
I built a new rig this summer and I'm happy with it except for the fact that crysis totally reams it. If crysis is any indication of the future requirements of games to come in the next few years then I am screwed.
My rig: C2D e6600, 8800GTS 640mb, 2gb DDR 800
I plan on oc'ing everything soon, though.
edit: also when you build your computer, make sure you have room to expand. For example, I made sure I got a motherboard that supported 1333fsb and quad-core so in the future I can always upgrade, along with a sli supported mobo.
however instead of going sli, I will probably just buy a newer card.

Looks awesome... It's nice to see a completed TC for max payne.
I used to be on a mod team back in the max payne 1 days, I hated that editor.

Right back at ya buddy.
When's the last time you went to the range and squeezed off some rounds?
Me? Yesterday.
Fuck off.
I don't want to sound like an asshole but you sir have a superiority complex. I haven't seen one constructive comment out of your ass since I've visited here.

I dont like cod4's weapon system.Guns just dont feel like they have any kick in cod4. although i love their sniping system.
I agree with you.
Call of Duty was much more of an arcade experience... I didn't much enjoy it.
There is never a change in pace of the action either, it is always pure chaos, and it gets old after awhile.
Maybe it's just not my type of game.
To be honest, Insurgency has probably done the best job of realisticly representing firearms. The only other games I can think of are maybe Operation Flashpoint and Americas Army, but Insurgency comes far closer.
For the most part, my only problem with the first release was the fact that half the people playing it never knew what the hell were they doing thanks to the lack of an objective map.
Now that this has been fixed i'm pretty excited about giving it another go.

I used to be weary of DD, but every PC game i've bought in the past year or so has been through steam.
It's 100% more convenient.

I've only been once, my favorite place in london was picadilly circus. There's lots to do there.

christ, what movie is your avatar from?
I faintly remember it, it was from some time in the late 80's.
