IMO it sucked since it was ALL the same. And everyone is hostile.

    My sentiments exactly

I bought it this weekend also... all enemies are hostile, every mission is the same... novelty of the game world wears off fast... I am glad it was only $20. It doesn't feel like a game, more like a polished tech demo..

If they can shore up the capital to actually launch the service I will be surprised. Assuming they do I predict they would go out of business within 2 years. That's not to say that they are headed in the right direction, but the masses aren't ready for this and the technology isn't in place yet.

Give it a decade and this will be how games are played. Let's face it, it would benefit the publishers and developers if games were distributed this way... assuming the technology was in place to effectively deliver it there wouldn't be many downsides to the consumer.

This is not something I necessarily look forward to as I like to feel like I 'own' the game instead of just a license to play it, but I am not going to deny the fact that things are going to head in this direction whether we like it or not so we might as well learn to like it.

Fallout 3 ain't no original IP. And it did well, supposedly.

Fallout 3 is an interesting case... It might as well have had been a new IP because let's face it, the average 'gamer' hasn't heard of or played any of the previous titles and has no idea about the franchise. To me it is the same phenomenon that made bioshock a success as well.

I can't definitively say what made both of those titles a success (aside from the fact that they were AAA titles) but in my opinion it all came down to marketing and hype. I also think that EA marketed Mirror's Edge and Dead Space in a more unconventional way... maybe unconventional isn't the right term.

With both titles they tried to create a backstory or canon before the game actually launched via short films/comics/etc. even though the whole ip was unknown before it's release. It seems like they just jumped the gun and then fell short when it came to following through.

I am kind've rambling and a bit drunk, I hope that makes sense.

Also, to give a completely blunt opinion of wolfenstein in terms of what I have seen so far is that it should have come out at least a year ago. However if it has the same essence and feel that RTCW had, I am sure I will enjoy it.

I didn't want to buy used, so I got new, and the cheapest I could afford ... Made in Canada, who would've thought.

It's nice to see a 40k player in here, I tried to get into that way back when... I had a decent sized set but didn't know anyone to play with. I was more into painting and putting the models together anyways.

I would receive more enjoyment from a ton of people enjoying something I created. I can't ever see making enough money from donations to make it worthwile from a purely monetary standpoint.

Dang, you got kinda ripped! It should only be 70 for an alignment and 40 @ most for mount and balance. Don't pay that much again.

  • How many Bioshock sequels do YOU want? 1? 2? 5? 0?

I was hoping for just a prequel. I am disapointed that they aren't doing this w/ bioshock 2.

I would also like the game to have some different gameplay elements because roaming around killing psychos all by yourself with pretty much no npc contact gets kind of boring after awhile. That is just my opinion. That was my only complaint with system shock 2, but I really hated the fact of no npc interaction.

Hey, does anyone still have this? Looks like it is no longer public. I upgraded to vista and apparently forgot to put it with all my other back-up stuff.

While I am eagerly waiting for the sdk, I hope that isn't all it is. I'd like to see versus mode for the rest of the maps at least.

lol wacom is still giving out mouses with their products? I dont think anyone ever has used a wacom mouse

One of my coworkers uses his as his only mouse.... I don't know how he does it. He has one of the bamboo models. They are actually easier to use on the smaller wacoms imo but I tried to use mine for awhile (intuos 9x12) and just couldn't stand it. I wish it worked more like a real mouse.

    Unreal Tournament 3

    This game sucks.

Really only wanted to play around with the editor, though.

It did say that fox has owned the rights to the movie since the 80's though, right? In that case, Warner is in the wrong. I don't think they should prevent or get all proceeds from the movie but legally they certainly deserve to get some sort of compensation for breach of contract.

    NOOOOOOESSS Timesplitters.

+1 Assuming this TS was going to have an online compenent it would've easily been the best console fps ever.

It sucks that these guys aren't around... they were the only few people who knew what the hell they were doing when it came to the genre.

Speaking of Croatia, i've heard Split is very nice. It is purely a tourist/vacation spot, though.

My sister spent awhile in the Czech Republic and said it was one of her favorite European countries she had ever been to.

I've only been to England, Scotland, and France. I enjoyed them all, but the culture was too similar. Spain is next on my list, either that or some eastern european country.

I'm sure he had plenty of expenses not to mention I would think he had a few other people help him out with gmod, so i'm sure some of the money got spread around.

Does anyone know if he plans on any other projects or is gmod his sole focus right now?
