new avatar pic for nexus. Anyne know when his movie is out?
Quote from ThrikI got an ATI 4870 1GB for about £140 a few weeks ago, and it kicks the shit out of my previous 8800 GTX (which is still used in my desktop PC upstairs — this is in a gaming HTPC). Even Crysis runs pretty smoothly (I'd estimate about 30 FPS) on 1080p with every setting on 'High' and 4x anti-aliasing.While ATI have had their issues, their newest cards (the only one in this range better than the 4870 is the 4890 I believe) deliver excellent performance for the money. And more critically for me, they use less power and are smaller/quieter than their NVIDIA counterparts.
If you're looking for all-out power and you're not too bothered about price, power consumption, volume, and size... go for NVIDIA. But if you're trying to squeeze the most out of a budget, ATI seems to be the best choice right now. As usual it's all about what happens to deliver the best value at a given moment.
With regards to ATI cards being rubbish, I think nowadays there's no real distinction between them and NVIDIA. The image quality is perceptibly identical, and the drivers are no more or less easy to use for either. As someone with experience using recent high-end cards from both I think I'm in a good position to say this.
I concur, absolutely brilliant value for money and i dont care what the nvidia fanboys say, ATi totally deliver with these cards. You will definitely need a new PSU though as these require some special power connector thingys.
Funniest thing i've seen in ages, fucking hilarious - This one's for you Nexus!
What's the official time it's gonna start then? (Swede time)
Yeah i really detest CS and all the close minded, 'hardcore' idiot "Dust plz" retardedness that comes with it. I really dont want to see another MP game from Valve right now, i'd rather see some damn SP for once!
Is Valve showing anything this year? I'd really like to see some Episode 3!
Shit sounds terrible, I know there are loads of Grinners on here, I hope it's not as bad as it sounds!
TAHT'S TROOLE TARGIC!
hahah spot on as always!!
Nice one Insta, fits the HL2 style like a glove! Can't wait to play it!

A penny for anyone who can spot what's wrong with this pic ![]()
Im surprised nobody has sugested a good early morning teabagging, that or fart on her face. Either way hot sex is sure to follow.
Seriously, now it's 100% confirmed that 3dr have gone down the shitter I have to say im incredibly dissapointed in George and Scott. I mean 12 years, 7 fucking years since the engine swap, and all they have to show for it is a bunch of out dated, generic looking corridors and bland uninsipred artwork?! It's a beyond a joke tbh.
I've seem more inspiring stuff from amature mod projects and graduate portfolios, I mean I could have created a fucking game on my own in half that time. I think the whole thing is a case of serious incompetence and a careless attitude.
What grates me most is how George and Scott have the nerve to pose for photos after all of this with all bigs smiles after their 12 years of fuck-ups lost them a company and made a whole bunch of people unemployed i'll never know! ('photo in question: [Blocked Image: http://cache.gawker.com/assets/images/kotaku/2009/05/3d_realms_goodbye.jpg])
Absolutely unacceptable in my opinion and the only positive thing to come out of all this is that Scott and George are finished in the industry. They'll go down as the laughing stock of game development.
This is probably the best thing that happened to to the Duke Nukem franciase since 1997 imo
To Clarify I let Wes use my map nd_Russia and related assets from Nuclear Dawn to use as a base to build his own version for Off Limits. ND is indeed now being developed by a new team torwards the goal of becoming a retail product. However I have little to do with this.
I still think it's a marketing ploy, too many unanswered questions for me to believe it yet.
I hate to point out the obvious, but you cant have "sequences" on a static prop!
This feels so unbelievable....
Awesome work mate, thanks a lot! ![]()
