    SATA1 HDD's sucks man!

I had the same problem, and a friend of mine who had the same problem too!

One day, the computer worked fine, the next day the BIOS did detected the HDD, but It doens't appear on the Windows drives list, neither in Windows Device manager... Like I said, this seems to be a SATA1 usual problem.

I never heard anyone having any problems like this with SATA2 HDD's though, and I hope I never do, coz I just bought a 320gb SATA2

There are ALOT of programs to recover data, maybe too much of them... maybe because none of them fucking work... correctly! Still, if you wanna give it a shot, I uploaded some file/hdd recover apps's, here, have fun...

    It's stolve, ignore him.

Anyways, D3... Without moving on (Learning new engines), HL1 won't get you into the industry anymore...

Why don't you learn 3DsMax, or a similar 3D modeling package? (If you don't already...)

That's what I did, I made a 1 year "pause" from mapping, to learn 3DsMax modeling techniques and UVW, also some texturing, and now I'm finally back to mapping, because now I know how to make my own assets and stuff...

I totally agree with Thrik there, now put you're self together, and move on...

You don't have a backup of you're bookmarks?

    Bookmarks -> organize bookmarks -> file -> export (?!)

And what went though you'r mind to Alt+Tab a game like Crysis, that eats all you'r resources, and open firefox? couldn't you just quit the game for a second and do what you had to do? I mean, that's just asking for trouble...

Anyways, yeah.. I agree with you all, the VTOL mission is one of the most stupid fails on the games industry nowadays, and the final boss also sucks ass! but oh well, I guess the rest of the game, and this wonderful engine "pays" for this mistakes...

this map looks too wide open to be a successfully CS:S map, i get the feeling that the player would say "where the fuck did I died from?", alooot of times!

It's impossible to be sure just too looking at this screens, but yeah, I get this feeling...

I agree with Thrik tho, this design MIGHT work on TF2, but it would still need alot of adjustments.

And the map looks too grayish, and lacks life! All I can see is some colorfull lights spread thought the map, blues and yelows... and of course, the final result aint the best.

It all looks too blocky, and it seems like you used the same texture along the map?

And please, remove those fugly pyramids and use a skybox.

eh eh, that's it guys, another year had just passed by...

2007 has been a great year for gaming, and I'd wanna year from you guys, what have you achieved in 2007, and what do you intend to achieve in 2008, and what are your new year resolutions?

    on 2007,

    Professionaly,

I'm finally working on games! 6 years struggling to get into the industry had just paid off, and I am now part of the most beautiful and joyful industry in this world, gaming industry!

Although It's a small company, making games for NintendoDS is being a great and productive experience.

    Personaly,

Well, I have a beautiful girlfriend, I now have a salary to live my life the way I see fit, and I'm feeling happier than ever!

    For 2008,

professionaly, I intend to finish this 2 games we are working on, so we can get started on PS3 dev.

Also, on my free times, I wanna make a couple of nice maps for Crysis And UT3.

Personaly, I just wanna continue the way I am, living slowly and happy!

Well nice job dude, Max Payne mapping looks quite complicated from what I've seen.. don't want to think how long those took you!

    eheh, thank you very much!

I used to love that editor man, I spent thousands of hours of my life on it!

And I don't think it's complicated, in fact is pretty simple and intuitive if one takes the enough time learning the editor, but oh well, I guess this sentence applies to every editor out there!

The Sidney Streets level took me almost a whole year to complete, I started modeling it for Max Payne 1, but meanwhile remedy released Max Payne 2 along with some nice importing tools, so I imported all the geometry and continued my work on MP2 engine.

The team started to work on New Dawn on 2002, I joined the team in 2003, and I can't really put into words the feeling, and the satisfaction I felt when we released it on Jun 14, 2005.

    It's such a great feeling

Damn good old times... I wonder if nowadays mod teams still work with the same passion we did a couple of years ago, I'm pretty sure they do!

I strongly advice everyone to try this thing out, alot of effort and love has been put into this... even if it means reinstalling Max Payne 2!
