Host it yourself is a lot of work and hassle.

I always avoid going for a small hosting company. For anything else, I would say otherwise, it's good to let small companies a chance to grow. But It's really fucked up when a small hosting company goes bankrupt and needs to close and you may loose everything.

Here's the article of the guys that played. if I understood correctly, they were the ones who put pics on the internet too. if that's true, that's pretty fucked up of them, no one has given them the right to do that.

Inside manWe're pretty lucky here at Atomic. One of the Black Mesa team's texture wranglers is no less than our very own comment troll Orcone. He brought in the latest build for us to play with yesterday, and play with it we have. The game's more or less complete - albeit with lots of tweaking to go - right up to the Xen levels. We could have jumped into any part of the game, but really, you have to start at the classic starter level, Inbound.

    Wow.

The combination of attention to original detail, and new material provided by the modern team is impressive. If you've ever tried to go back to Half Life you'll know the old engine really isn't aging well; this, however, makes the game fresh and up to date.

It's also fiendishly self-referential - there's a newspaper on one of the chairs in your carriage called the Inbound Times... The Half Life sense of humour is very much intact and expanded upon.

But apart from that, this is all new material - new textures, new animations, even new voice work. It's all lovingly based off the original, but with a few twists that keep the story in line with the now much more expanded universe that subsequent releases have given us.

Full use has also been made of the Source engine's implementation of Havok physics. Most items can be picked up and thrown around, and the explosive action is much more chaotic than ever before. But it's the simple things that amuse, it seems - we spent more time than is probably healthy stacking chairs, folders and magazines on the Anomalous Materials reception desk during our initial run through.

I'm proud of my Minos <33

Good job dude! Very colorful, great usage of color. It's like a marriage of Mass Effect and Mirror's Edge, love it!

And not only art wise, the execution is flawless. A good 3D Artist should know how to create modular / design friendly asset for level building and you just proved you have this skill nailed with this scene.

Edit: Rotfl, I just realized that you posted the final version of the scene on your 5000 post! ah ah, n1!

Once again, very very useful tutorial!

I just got started on a little scene, and most of this stuff is exactly what I need.

Thank you Philip, I'll drop you some feedback soon hopefully.

Yep, it's one of the good things here in Germany, insurance covers for a lot of stuff, including dentist, and they can be very expensive!

And it's safer to go for IV sedation (If it's the lower molar) that way they don't need to inject the anesthesia into your nerve, which may damage it.

Got two crowns and one inlay for my teeth this week. After eleven months of constant dentist visits. These things cost a fortune. Teeth stuff is so expensive even with insurance :/ Should have brushed my teeth better as a kid.

Oh man, I tottaly second that. I had a root canal treatment like 4 years ago, it got infected and I had to remove the infected gum on top of the tooth last week, it was either that or extract the tooth.

And in a couple of months, I'll remove all 4 wisdom teeth.

My insurance is covering for everything so far, not sure if it will cover the wisdom teeth too.

    360 controller on a ps3?

The ps3 pad is not that bad, I play on it since the PSX times, so maybe I got used to it. But I agree that the xbox360 controller is much better for shooters.
