I'm started playing Hitman 2. Loved the missions of the first one, and this one doesn't disappoint either. It's a shame they had to inprovise their cinamtics, you can deffo tell they tried to cut some budget there, but i'd rather see it done there than the game itself. Just finished Mission 4 in Mumbai, the environment art in this game is amazing, really immersive.

Also playing Ori Will of the Wisps. I know many of you don't like platformers, but this game is just a delight. Music, art, level design, pacing everything is perfectly balanced. Really recommend picking this up on steam, sometimes you legit get goosebumps when the art, music and story just come together.

I played about 1/4 of Doom E, need to go back to it. Reason I stopped is because I've got it on PC, and after a whole day of sitting on my PC for work, being in the same spot is the last thing I wanted to do, and playing Doom with a controller is a capital sin, so...

Also finished RE3 remake. A disappointment if you compare it to the quality bar that RE2 remake set. Specially the lenght of the campaign. If you compare it to the original RE3, it's also a bit disappointing, many puzzles are gone, some areas are not here either like the clock tower and gardens, and even the ones that were remade are shorter. It's a bit more actony, and less survival horror. With all that being said, I've had to say the campaign is really well paced, graphics are amazing specially on PC, sounds is awesome too if you play it on a 5.1 setup. I'd way till the price comes down to around 30 bucks to get it.

Been trying to play a few more indies, this one really stoop up, A Short Hike. And sure enough it's really well made.

Probably a Crysis 1/warhead/2/3 remaster for x1 and ps4. Similar to 2k did with Bioshock.

When I was at crytek we released c1 on Ps3/xbox360, it shipped on CE3 (deferred rendering), some of the assets were remade like most vehicles, but the draw distance, LOD fade distance and shader quality were reduced, along with removing that extremely expensive VTOL mission, so I wonder which version they're gonna go with.

I'm playing Ori Will of the Wisps right now, and it does this exact thing relatively well. Plus, with unlockable powers, you can go bacl to old areas and explore them further. Although, I think it's sort of the nature of the Metroidvania genre to include this to a certain extent, Ori absolutely nails it, beautiful game too.

Finished a full match yesterday, so I played Valorant for about 40 or so minutes.

The first few minutes, it definitely feels like CS. It moves like CS, it jumps like CS, weapon firing feels exactly like CS, has exactly the same guns as CS (they've just been renamed and look different), they basically started out with CS as the foundation and tried to mess around with it's formula a bit. Then you start noticing the small differences, for instance the attackers are stuck in the spawn for 30 seconds. This is probably due to the map I played (Haven) being wider, since there's 3 bomb spots, A, B and C. (I've yet to try the other 2 maps, which only have A and B, like CS)

I played the whole match with the Phoenix class, afaik you can't change class midgame, but I could be wrong. I think he might be the most classic "CS" class too, since you have your flashbang and a molotof, he can also cast a wall of fire that seems to deal damage to anyone that touches it and also works as a vision blocker. His ult allows him to put a teleport on the ground that you can teleport back to. I'll try the other classes later.

The level design feels very grid like and lacking any sort of organic feeling to it. At least the map I played feels like a 90° hodge podge, loads of sharp corners everywhere, which I know plays well in this genre but I wish they introduced a bit of the pareto principle and had a range there to break up the monotony.

Here's a link for the 3 maps, if you guys are curious to check it out: https://blitz.gg/valorant/maps

Will play some more and let you know my thoughts.

Would be awesome if we could somehow bring back games that try to mix both worlds? Like Far Cry 1? I remember loving how large the environments were, but they still had a flow to them.

Even Crysis 1, everyone remembers it as this wide open world game, but the levels were still "linear" in it's design, they were just wider "corridors".

Yeah, me neither. It does makes sense to a certain extent that someone that's so good at video games and plays them for a living, knows the ins and outs of how to develop them too.
