Played it for an hour or so, I got a fairly average PC by today's standards. (4gb ram and a 9800gt) and I have ZERO problems with rage so far, looks astonishing and It's obviously 60FPS constant as well.

I also did not experienced any texture popping in like people have been complaining, at all!

I did used a config tho, even before I booted the game, I got it from here:

    Rageconfig.cfg should go here:

    \Steam\steamapps\common\rage\base

Bullet time is fast-paced? How do you get any slower-paced than that? Turn-based strategy?

    Nice trolling attempt, failed tho!

I recommend you watch a couple John Woo movies, like Hard Boiled! ;D

It's the same as adding cover to quake man, Max Payne is a fast paced game, cover might ruin the pace of the game.

i never liked apple because of their philosophy, but i know steve jobs was a brilliant man, and i am sad to see him go.

Apple was just one of his "creations", there wouldn't be a Pixar if it wasn't for him for instance.

Oh my.... this is a dark day. I swear I had chills down my spine when I heard the news, like a full body goosebumps. We all know it would happen eventually... but this is just fucked up.

Some people are famous and rich because they got lucky, or they can kick a ball, Steve changed the world. I'm sure he still had a lot of life in him, but he deserves rest more than anyone, so Rest in Peace steve.

It's a set up more similar to Borderlands. You have an open world hub that you can explore that connects you to traditional linear levels and quest hub towns. The open world segment is really more for vehicular exploration and combat (or simply following the mini-map breadcrumb trail to your next main mission).

Each quest hub has a myriad of side missions that you can do, with mini-games, delivery quests, races of various sorts (time trials, combat races, etc.), and other side missions that take you back to the main mission levels and repopulates them with new enemies. The quest hubs also have shops that you can visit to sell junk and buy ammo/weapons/upgrades for yourself and your vehicle.

So while progression in the campaign is linear, as are the levels themselves for the main campaign, you have the freedom to either plow straight through it, or take the time to do all the side stuff, much like in a traditional RPG.

In summation, it's somewhere in between the linear corridor fest of past id games and the open world RPG of games like Oblivion/Fallout.

I'd say it's a lot of your traditional id FPS, some tactical RPG-esque elements of Bioshock with pickups along those lines, main campaign missions that are more linear like CoD or your traditional id FPS, but with some open areas for player choice via combat game play like Crysis 2, and some Twisted Metal thrown in for the vehicular segments.

I don't know how people can think all those points are BAD things... that's basically a recipe for awesome.

Far Cry 2 was made by ubisoft. It has NOTHING to do with crytek since Crytek sold the "Far Cry" name back in 2005.

But to answer your question, It's called Dunia engine.

CE2 never ran on console, it was a PC only engine.
