Here's hoping Remedy is making AW2 part of the 3 ongoing projects they've got going on right now.

Well, lemme crush your hopes immediately... it probably means the inverse, games with high fidelity assets will get a larger install.

Dynamic lighting does mean you don't need to ship a game with lightmaps, which will bring disc size down a bit, but the thing is, high density geometry also occupies a fairly large size on disc, and all those assets you see there still make use of Color, Roughness and normal maps. Fitting all that on a reasonable storage device will be a challenge. What we have here is essentially some very futuristic streaming technology, now that consoles will have 16gb of memory and SSD, you have a lot of buffer to stream shit in and out of memory.

This is fucking amazing... it might be akin to the jump between PS2 and PS3 graphics. Everyone was talking about how the PS4 was a iterative gen, this next one seems to be a huge leap!

Virtualized geometry tech, no need for LODs. Dynamic GI, no need for lightmaps. Raytraced sound and reverb.

Fuck, yes! Red letter day for game artists.

Mafia 3 was a little bit of a let down, the first two were amazing games with a really great narrative and characters.

And seems like a remaster is on the way, we should see more footage on the 19th. Also, Mafia 1 is a full remake, with expanded story and gameplay!!!

Damn, this is legit making me wanna boot up the game once more. Cult classic is the perfect description of this gem of a game.

Oh and yeah, I also got the collectors back when it came out. It's a beautiful big black book, that doesn't fit anywhere, ahah.

Ha yeah, I finished Days Gone a few months ago. The game's story really picks about around half way through, I don't know what happened but all of a sudden I actually started caring for the characters and the overall plot. Towards the end, the game has some really cool missions, a few of them really memorable on part with stuff we've seen on R* games.

Game is dirt cheap atm, recomended.

Yeah, S2 pales in comparison to the first. S1 is poetry, so damn beautiful.

I think the last ep of s3 was just released too, so I might renew my HBO Now account to watch it.

The character art is sub-par, probably shouldn't have used regular NPC's you encounter in the game so prominently in a trailer. Some of those characters look straight out of a The Sims game, not sure if it's the render of this engine, lighting or whatever is going on.

But, it's the only gripe I have with it really. I'm actually very looking forward to this, for a while now. Immersive sims aren't exactly a dime a dozens these days, so part of me really hopes the whole package of this turns out to be excellent.

5 hours ago, Radu said: You'd think so, but maybe people are really not that hungry. If you look at the achievements on Steam, only 30% have managed to finish the game. And that's funny because people couldn't even be bothered to get to the end of the game despite the significant financial investment on their side. I think HL:A is a well made game with some awesome moments to be experienced in VR, but now that the initial hype has died down, I can't say that I want to replay it anytime soon or experience another HL in VR or keep playing in VR.

There's some people that say VR is the future and are pretty convinced about it, but I just can't see it.

If it's around 30%, it's actually around the average if not above the average. I remember around 2010, the percentage of people that finished the games they bought, hovered around 12%. (I was dumbfounded when I learned about this, specially as someone who finishes the vast majority of the games I start.)

The good news is, way more people play games now than they did back in 2010, and you'd think that would actually bring the statistic down even more as it reached mainstream, but it seems like it went up to around 30%! This is obviously an average, and it depends a lot on the game genre and specific game, but if 30% of people managed to stay inside a VR Game for a dozen hours and actually finish it, which is way more effort than sitting your ass on your couch with a controller, is actually pretty good for a game that's been out for a month.

1 mil, not bad at all. Specially considering it's nearly impossible to buy a VR headset right now, in normal times that number could easily be double.

Now the ball is on the side of all the other VR devs, after playing and finishing Alyx, people will be hungry for more games to play on their headsets.

I've been playing a lot of local coop games lately, Guacamelee 2 (really enjoyed the first one years ago) and Overcooked so far. Overcooked is so much fun in (local) coop, that I immediately bought the sequel as well. Next up is probably Hidden In Plain Sight and Guns, Gore & Cannoli 2.

You can turn off the pixelated filter under Options, great of him for adding that.

PS. I remenber LOVING Guacamelee on my PSVita!

ikr! A big company would never make a game like this, yet it manages to leave a long lasting effect in you.
