Dude, this is some legit badassery right here. Talk about stuff that's going to better the human race.
Do you think that VR allowing for the opportunity to explore fields like these is exactly the kind of stuff that will make it explode?
Something tells me that video games might not actually be what makes VR popular, and widely used, it'll be more utilitarian stuff like this. Like your phone, it plays games sure, some of them even really good but you don't really use it for that, mainly.

Oh my lord... the entitlement!
Back in the day, when you bought Street Fighter II (or any other game) for the Genesis, it wouldn't run on the SNES or any other console. It's hard enough to make a game for one platform, it's an extra pain in the ass to make it multi-platform, now there's this extra stuff to worry about? Yeah... no.
When you go out for a concert the ticket is valid for that one venue. When you go to a sports event, ticket is valid on that stadium When you go to a restaurant, you can't order the food in a place, then claim you wanna eat it in another.
Creating the expectation that a video game (or any other software) needs to run on your kitchen toaster because you "bought the game" is so unrealistic it's almost comical.

Btw, HP just announced a new headset today, ($600) Looks like the Index and the Rift S had a baby, pretty decent specs.
https://uploadvr.com/hp-reverb-g2-features/
- 4K headset (2160×2160 LCD panels per eye) (Index does 1440×1600) - 90 hz refresh rate (Rift S does 80hz, Index does 120hz) - uses Valve audio/lenses - touch-like controllers - IPD slider

This whole workshop business though is really exciting and tempting, feels like going back to the first times post HL and HL2 release.
You just need to make sure you have a decent graphics card.

Index has headphones built it, didn't test them, but seems like they're decent. Rift S has speakers embedded with the headset band, meh sound, great surround.
Both have a audio jack on the headset itself:

That's why you must remember to bring grid back up, and realign it. I hate having to go down to grid 1 to do anything, it creates bad rabbits, but it's the only workaround I found for the time being. (I also do the same in Maya)
Yeah, a "align selection to nearest grid point" would be useful.

Shift+1 converts to verts Shift+2 converts to edges Shift+3 converts to faces

I spent a while looking for this too, couldn't find it. Workaround is to lower grid to 1 or 2, then scale the verts into a row, bump the grid back up and snap to grid.

Is Prey (2017) considered a cult classic yet? Really underrated video game.
