After the sales of Dishonored2 and Prey (I still can't believe they called this game Prey, and not System Shock 3...) I doubt anyone wants to invest in "immersive sims" for the foreseeable future. I'm sure those games broke even, or maybe even made a decent profit. But Multiplayer and Microtransactions is where the real money's at, and publishers know it. The latter is way more dangerous than the former though, as it's a pandora's box that once open, you can't ever close it back up, not without some serious changes to the way you monetize your games, that is.
3DRealms is pretty much back full force, and I feel that no one realized it yet.

There's this moment in the game where your fucking brother dies... on my, 3rd or 4th playthrough back in the day, I realize that you can save him after all, and the game changes massively as he talks to you and helps you via the infolink throughout the rest of the game, pretty much. Just an example of how far they really took the "choices matter" with this game, it's tangible

How many mapcoreans got a VR kit?
I picked a Rift S to play Alyx, and it blew me away, to play a video game with actual sense of depth is pretty amazing. After you're done with Alyx tho, you're left wondering what else is out there? So far I picked up Beat Saber (My wife loved it, it became her daily exercise game, she doesn't even play Ring Fit anymore) I also tried Moss and it was a little bit disappointing and tbh it doesn't really need to be VR. Picked up Tetris Effect and it's actually my favourit VR game now, I keep going back to it, the effects and the music are really underrated.
Can anyone else here recommend any other game I might be missing? I'll pick up superhot eventually, I'm sure that one's fun too.
I'm also curious to try some of the FPS classics:
