Although a bit off topic, but still, it is this thread that brought me to this rant.

Nintendo has always excelled in clearing out your wallet. The Wii was cheap for sure. But if you need extra stuff (nunchucks and Wii motes anyone?) you would pay a fair price. Combine all that together and the Wii was actually a pretty expensive system. The only reason they got away with it because the fanboys will pay it anyway and most of the stuff, you really needed. Just look at the second hand market for old Nintendo systems. Look at what they dare to ask for Gamecube, NES or SNES games. You can probably buy 5 Genesis games for 1 SNES game. Trust me, I know (this is the case in the Netherlands but Ebay gives the same impression worldwide). The same goes for the pricing of games. It's not like the Windwaker is new in this. Hell, it's not even that expensive since the original still goes for around 40 on the second hand market.

A friend of mine is a diehard Nintendo fan. Something I don't get. I loved Nintendo as kid but I quit in the Gamecube era. Another Mario? Another Zelda? Another Metroid? Another Donkey Kong? Yes, there are excellent games in those series and yes, they do try to keep innovating them but I just grew tired of it. Regardless of what new features they introduced is always felt the same. Perhaps I'm the only one in this, I don't know. My friend called me all excited about the new Mario. I played it an thought, nice graphic overhaul. Lost interest in 5 minutes. I'm not hating, I just don't understand why older gamers don't grow tired of it. The new generation I understand. Hell, if I have kids I'll buy them Nintendo too. Wait...does this mean.....no.....did I simply.......grow up????

But seriously, who in they're right mind launches a system which is not that much ahead of the current generation (which is 7 years old) without a killer lineup to sell it. Yeah, a gamepad with a screen. Nice gimmick but I didn't pay a shitload of money for a big screen TV to game on a small screen. If I wanted that I would have bought a 3DS. Anyways, enough ranting. You guys have fun though.

TL:DR - Fuck Nintendo, You guys enjoy it!

I'll probably play GTA V sometime next year...

i'm probably one of the only people thats just "meh" about it. Haven't played all the way through any GTA yet. i did 100% Mafia and Sleeping Dogs though (for sandbox games). But something about GTA has always just 'meh' to me. Dunno what it is, maybe the hype ruins it for me.

    also this is funneh.

Knowing you, this is the game for you man!

Also, lol at that gif. That happens if you either buy the game from PSN, or you install the second disc on xbox.

Because, from what I gather, they use both the DVD/Blu-Ray AND the console's hard drive to stream content from, basicaly they double the bandwith that way, pretty smart and ingenious of them, although they forgot one little detail, people can buy 100% digital games nowdays, so the whole game is streaming only from the HDD that way, introducing major streaming problems with texture and LOD popping.

tl;dr, GET the disc, don't get the game digitally.

"It also became clear that “rumble”, as it has been traditionally implemented (a lopsided weight spun around a single axis), was not going to be enough. Not even close.

The Steam Controller is built around a new generation of super-precise haptic feedback, employing dual linear resonant actuators. These small, strong, weighted electro-magnets are attached to each of the dual trackpads. They are capable of delivering a wide range of force and vibration, allowing precise control over frequency, amplitude, and direction of movement."

Is it just me or does the city feel pretty dead and souless? I haven't played much of the game yet to be honest, but the little exploration I did was boring as hell... The few open buildings I found were parking garages with absolutely nothing inside. Tried to enter some industrial buildings through a canal and found absolutely nothing interesting in there. Piled up some cars to blow them up and had to empty half of my ammo since vehicles are almost indestructible in this game. I don't remember GTA 4 feeling this souless and empty but then again it's been a long time since I played it.

Oh there's WAY more stuff to do in here than in GTA4 man, you just need to pick from one of two things, you either create your own fun or you do missions, if you walk around the city waiting for the "fun" to come at you, it will rarely happen. (Although there's some cool random events like you had in Red Dead)

As for the cars, they only blow up if you shoot at the engine, or the gas tank.

So, Sony and Valve are both going to be supporting PC-like precision thanks to all this touch shit... but not Microsoft. Well done once again proving your complete lack of foresight MS, lol.

It also prooved they're living under a rock, they're own big rock. Biometric and touchpads on controllers is a subjects that's being discussed for a few years now, it would be the logic step. Look at the Vita the touch screen and back touch pad is amazing.
