A few days old - only just noticed it today. Deep shadows has released the trailer for White Gold - a sort of fusion between Far Cry-esque visuals, GTA gameplay and RPG elements.

They'd better release this on the PC.

Why was 512 a huge texture size? You've discouraged me now

I thought the ZSpheres are what make ZBrush great to use, although I haven't really used either much.

Pre-rendered trailers are none of my interest (altho somone told it was not pre-rendered, I will belive it when i play it). "EACE" is not so high on my list either, but if they manage to pull this off I'm more then willing to test.1 Thumb up for the humour, 10 thumbs down for it being pre-rendered or not showing ingame footage wich i think is kinda the same.
It's not pre-rendered. You can tell. There's an obvious graphics glitch as the camera rotates down.
Furyo, I don't see how they're making fun of the genre/their own games...except possibly some of the WW2 shooters.

I have 350D and I'm not satisfied with lens. If you want to make realy nice pictures buy a new lens

Really? Mine's perfectly fine.

Agreed, also why is there a Union Jack on it when we don't use that vehicle at all?
It's a game set in the 'near future' and it's just got to be accepted that Army vehicle loadouts have changed. The same reason that the UK team has a HMMWV instead of a Iveco LMV

Agreed with e-freak - get a Canon DSLR. Or just any Canon - my experience with them has been good.

I think the office is going to look completely out of place - I think you should edit the office textures (or make new ones
) to make them look a bit more in theme with the map (i.e darker, dirtier). I don't much like the rock texture outside - although I just don't like that texture in general. -
Ferret - there already is one

Still heavy WIP...not quite sure about the whole battletorn thing myself but I think I can make it work.

Edit: Ignore the faint black lines on some edges.

He means the map is for CS:Source, not Goldsource.

Can remember playing this quite a bit on a mate's server - nice map. Cool secret too.

6,599 now. Missed a few bits for smoothing (cylinder thing at the back and the mirrors) - but that's the model finished. I'm UV mapping it now.

On the last 2 I think it's just the base it's on that gives it away, otherwise it looks pretty authentic.
WIP LAV-25 (horrible render, I know):

Quite simply, you can't. That's one of the many problems with the Source engne - although they're adding dynamic lighting I think. Guess it's just a "hope no one notices" kind of thing.

In the 3rd shot, the pallet has a noticeable shadow -- is there a streetlight above (that we can't see) causing this? The shadow looks a little too crisp if being caused from a more distant light source.Great mood, though, overall!
Never worked with the source engine before? The shadows aren't caused by lights in the environment, they're all from a set angle (I assume whatever angle light_env is?). That's why you get this kind of thing happening.

If it was they're being stupidly picky, because so many artists use it now - I mean, practically any object you see in Valve's games uses AO maps.
What company was it for though?

Is it meant to be 30 tonne (as in the weight)? Looks good ingame, although given the grime on the warehouse walls I'd imagine it to be a bit more dirty on the edges.
