I used to have the VHS set; I think I'll get the DVD set and watch it again soon.
I hope you are also fan of Buster Keaton, Harold Lloyd, charlie Chaplin, and...Tom & Jerry

I think it might be interesting to watch Buster Keaton's stuff, it's funny how many commercials for products today still rip him off.

I knew Mr. Bean was supposed to be pretty funny but goddamn. no one told me it is perhaps the funniest thing you can ever watch in your life

This looks pretty cool. It’s neat how you tried to recreate Alyx stuff on Source. I think I’ll check this one out

Also piece of trivia you may already know. Atari chose it's name after the Atari pattern in go (which in Japanese roughly means "success").
The app on my phone has a big ATARI!! arrow that pops up. it's pretty funny to shout randomly. I'd love to play some gangster Go players in 9x9. at least I could tell when I was getting my ass handed to me.

To this day I have NEVER beaten the computer..
How are you paying go on computer? I tend to play using gridmaster
I'm only playing it on my phone right now. I don't think it's very popular in the west but maybe totally wrong about that? I just knew there had to be something better than chess but in that same vein.
A dedicated go room sounds fun as hell but I wouldn't even attempt to play on anything but 9x9 because it's too much IMO. I would never beat the computer on a full board, either. I feel like 9x9 Go is something more people would love if they tried it.

I’ve started playing a lot more Go (on a 9x9 board). I think I just got frustrated with the amount of memorization in chess. Go is cool because memorization isn’t really a factor.
I also find Go a lot more aesthetically satisfying than chess. When losing the game still has a lot of beauty, whereas losing in chess just became sour after a while.
That said, I couldn’t fathom playing Go on a full 19x19 board yet. It’s got to be much more difficult than chess in that setting, my brain grinds to a halt just looking at it...

FWIW their stock is taking a hit... a minor hit that will probably recover though.
Ultimately there aren't many studios that can do what CDPR just did, that even have that kind of upside. The bad press will hurt them for a minute, but they largely succeeded in doing what they set out to do. The big money simply has few other places else to go. I would be surprised if this rocky launch defined the game beyond launch, there's got to be a pretty decent window of time for them to get stuff fixed and negate the impact.
-
Game presumably still made a gazillion dollars, therefore nothing will fundamentally change within or without of CDPR. The well-being of the people working on it was never a consideration to begin with.

One thing that may be going on is that people are used to Rockstar quality, and expected that here, from a company that just doesn’t have that kind of experience making AAA blockbuster open world games. I know The Witcher was well received, but this is a game that is receiving GTA levels of scrutiny and obviously can’t quite match those production quality levels. You can’t fake this kind of thing, GTA games set the bar really high as far as open world experiences.

I don’t think this is a situation where you can ask either permission or forgiveness. You won’t be forgiven, and the public doesn’t grant your permission. This is a question of whether you have the guts to say no to the public, when they have already been fairly patient. They would have entered meme territory by adding additional delay, but it would have been worth it. Now it will be difficult to say the game delivered on its potential, and there is no going back on that.

Apologies and refunds available.
I think it’s obvious they should have delayed it yet again. They were also perhaps a victim of having to ship for last gen consoles.
Gamers would have absolutely pissed their pants for more delays, but all in all it seems clear in hindsight that another 6-7 months could have made all the difference. This is a moment the entire industry can learn from, it doesn’t matter how angry people get, delay delay delay until it’s ready. Delay as long as it fucking takes. Zero chance they didn’t think it would have serious bugs on launch.

I still want to play this game but I've moved back the window of when to play it about a year. Unfortunately, I'm not sure this product will be successful without my $60. Oh well.

I have watched about 4 episodes. Honestly it seems like a fantastic show, but the pace has been a bit on the slow side. I’ve been busy but want to check back in and finish it. I’m sure it’s not easy to make a show about chess that moves at anything like an engaging pace, they’ve done pretty well considering
