Currently working on a smaller damaged Truck for a Udk project.
The broken glass (for the window and spotlights as well) is still missing and will be added on the next step.

I really like the white with subtle dirt/rust texturing. Good job

I made some adjustments, this should be the final version of the map for testing for Friday

https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B77iMt…VdnZFA3OGc/edit
(I really hope it doesn't need any optimizing, it's pretty basic)

Awesome
I'll add you on steam friends! Thanks for providing this service

How about about 2pm or thereabouts on next Friday? That should be earlier?

I like them a lot. I think it could help MapCore become even more of the level design-centric kind of site that I know I'm very thankful for. It really fulfills a very unique function with as many professionals on it as there are, it's not so much of a hobbyist site.

weekdays are cool! anytime after 6pm eastern time U.S. works for me

-
any time after like 6 pm and I'm good to go!! (eastern) if this is too late, after 4 could work slightly less well. I don't know about Euro times, you'll have to correct me if this is poor for you

a new map I'm working on, to be really pursued once Museum is done. Maybe we could test the gameplay?
this will be the art style:

Very pretty, looks fun. Seems like a perfect iOS game

this is what the world looks like to me
uh but nah it may be the lighting? or not, see what others think.

Excited to test this.
I think visually its getting more and more in line with the TF2 look with every release, but we're still a tad too realistic. I find that for whatever reason I very much struggle to create anything good in TF2 because I lean too heavily on realism. Evidently it takes a lot of practice. I guess its also possible you're not as worried about the graphics at this stage, which would be understandable

Even a straight rip would be a technical challenge, and to get something that looks good on a completely different engine is itself impressive. It's more of a technical marvel than anything, obviously nobody is saying "good job creating all that content"

I thought it was trying to make a point about how hip hop is actually sort of an evolution from the shabby condition of the slaves. Like how it emerged out of bitterness. Could just be my dumb interpretation, but I liked it
I don't even want to see Django after Inglorious Basterds. I honestly think the dude has lost his way. He's become hyper-aware of his own sensibilities and the sensibilities of everyone else that he seems fixated on creating things nobody else but him could ever possibly create, for the sake of it. This sounds fucking stupid typing it but I think it's true.
If I just stop at Jackie Brown goddamn what a perfect triangle of films. Jackie Brown is absolutely his prime, everything in that movie just comes off so perfectly and effortlessly without a fuckin hitch. It's a masterwork. But everything from Kill Bill on has just lost me. I'm sure he's having a fucking blast making this shit, and it shows, but it's clearly a very different part of his legacy at this point. He pretty much pulled a 90 degree turn after Jackie Brown and went way the fuck somewhere else I don't even know where.
But who am I kidding I'm gonna watch that shit cause it's probably still better than most everything else out there anyway.
I won't despute how bad Kill Bill was. I thought that whole concept was idiotic.
That said, inglorious bastards was a good film. Maybe not incredible, but a very valid movie artistically.
The cinematography, writing, and acting of Christopher Waltz in IB is as good or better than almost any Tarantino film. The plot isn't the strongest, I admit, but Waltz's character is really strong. He has a field day with that role. The way some of the scenes are shot is ingenious and story-bookish with this highly crafted feel. IB may not be Tarantino's best film, but it is definitely one of his most polished and well crafted films. The problem with Tarantino is his stories have gotten more and more basic. Pulp Fiction had a few really compelling love stories alongside the standard Tarantino violence. That emotional side continued in Brown, and hasn't really returned since. I think that's the biggest criticism of his stuff from me, starting with Resevoir Dogs he became more in love with violence, which only became a big issue in Kill Bill, where he just went Full Retard. Death proof, kill bill, IB and Django to some extent suffer from this simple minded ness.
I think it goes Pulp Fiction >Jackie Browne>Resevoir Dogs>IB>Django>everything else kind of sucked
As I see it Django is sort of a weaker film than IB, but it's not terrible. It's a noticeable but not painful decline. If you can't have fun with it, you're thinking a bit too much IMO. Leonardo, surprisingly, has the strongest performance. Everyone else is completely forgettable, especially Jamie fox, who was never much of an actor anyway. Waltz was a bore.
Where I agree with you especially that Tarantino has lost his way, is in how he thinks about his own films. He's become reactionary. To me it's obvious that he felt, after IB, he needed, having made Germans look like dog shit, to have a self-less German hero (in Django). There's all this German imagery and references in Django for literally no convincing reason, and it comes across as Tarantino winking to the audience that "not all Germans are bad" as if they are idiots who didn't come to that conclusion on there own. It's like he saw his cinema history become historically simple, and felt the need to go back and tidy it up or "balance it". It's sort of a gross feeling, like he's thinking about the political ramifications of his work. I see a lot of Django as a reaction to IB. It's like he's trying to correct himself. In a way, that's a form of repeating yourself, in this case to a lesser result.

My absolute favorite map from Modern Warfare 2 that I decided to do for Counter-Strike.
The map itself contains about 100% custom content taken from Modern Warfare 2 and ported to Source.
I NEVER got around to building the actual planes outside and the rest of the interior. Also suffering from some horrible bugs in-game, probably due to the massive amounts of brushes in this map.
These are one of the many reasons why this will never see the light of day

Django: 8.5/10
Would get a higher score if it wasn't for the hip hop

Just saw Django, really pleased with how it turned out. Great movie

Given the map's small layout, I think a de_ with two bombsites is probably not going to be a natural fit. Just my two cents

Day-Z IMO. Most revolutionary concept, most fun, most potential. I think the most important game of 2012
