So I wanted to archive what I felt is the finest unreleased Source mod, Nuclear Dawn. I know it was eventually released, but the team had changed so much that I don't feel it matched the original team's vision. There may be more media out there, but this is the stuff I was able to find and wanted to archive. I may want to do this for Nightwatch as well, since that appears to be the finest unreleased Half-Life mod.

It would not be a true Stalker game if the developers were always making sound and considered decisions. They have to overextend and ship something charmingly jank, or it wouldn’t have that magic on release.
This engine swap is just another crucial part of the masterpiece creative process.

but in all seriousness, this delta variant stuff is such a bummer. I feel like Corona went from a historical event to something that is actively tearing gaping holes in society. Thinking of conspiracy stuff, it's going to be hard to rebuild trust in institutions when actual laws or the practical reality says "interact with as few human beings as possible." I went from thinking this would take a year or two to recover from, to wondering if and when it will ever end.
Vaccination just doesn't seem like the finish line anymore, not if vaccinated people can still get the disease. Maybe the saving grace is, that infections don't seem severe among the vaccinated. Still going to be with us for a long, long time then.

Earlier today I talked to someone who is "not anti-vax, but not pro covid-19 vaccine either". Their key points were that:
- the vaccine is about control, not health, and cutting rights little by little (arguing that you should have the freedom to decide what to do with your body, not be forced to get the vaccine in order to keep your job)
- it's not a regular vaccine ("Vaccines contain weakened or inactive parts of a particular organism (antigen) that triggers an immune response within the body. - long term effects are not known (with several doctors telling them to wait to see what happens after this experiment)
Pretty sensible points? This whole subject has been super polarising overall. If the vaccine becomes mandatory in order to resume work, it will be interesting to see what happens.
In the United States, the government owns your body. Not saying that morally, but practically, they can enact a draft to take physical possession of you. They can subpoena you, put a warrant out for you, arrest you. So they already have control.
The new vaccine argument elides the fact that failure to take the vaccine at all increases your chance of contracting a deadly virus. So it’s like driving without a seatbelt, or smoking at a gasoline pump. Eventually that shit will catch up to you, and the only hope you’ve got is a vaccine.
In my opinion it is clear that this thing was created in a lab. Your best chance of fighting it is something created in a lab. That is just where humanity is today. Ever since the Manhattan Project we have been fucking around with science in a way that will doom us as a species, this vaccine is a way to avoid personal doom in the meantime.
I can understand why this is not an optimistic or marketable truth, but sooner or later the government is going to stop fucking around and start mandating these vaccines, probably at the point where young people start to be at severe risk.

Never feels great or safe to have a room full of probably 200-300 people booing you and some dudes with authority on a stage mocking you as well. I know we’ve spent a while on this tangent of the blizzcon panel, but people seem to think it’s a useful window into what other women, who were in the company, faced from some of these same individuals, so it might not be a waste of time to look at it carefully
I agree with @ElectroSheep that the whole vibe is off because the panel seems to be about these dudes’ egos instead of what everyone actually came together for, which is the games. It’s tough when you get elevated to that kind of a stage and platform, especially if you don’t do it much, to start to think it’s all about you and how great you are, and aren’t you funny and special. I think that’s what all the dumb jokes are about as well, people who have forgotten that any one of them could be replaced and World of Warcraft would still be World of Warcraft without them. None of that is happening because of them specifically, but they’re acting like rock stars or something. Absurd
I did dumbell benching for many years because I didn't have a bench setup and my gym only had a free bench with no safety bars. Moving 80-100lb dumbells around is just kind of insane though and not very practical for a home gym. It's nice benching now with safety bars, there's really no risk except perhaps to the shoulders, but I just don't see it happening.
Might break out the dumbells again to do some farmer carries, that was a super fun and effective exercise that I stopped doing a while ago for no real reason. I was seeing nice benefits from them
