The Warriors on PSP (surprisingly fun, especially if you dig the movie).
Wolf: ET - I haven't played this in years, but I think its still fun, even if the servers running it today are packed with ultra-annoying sound mods, and 90% bot games!

Owwww! I got a headache right after I saw the sailboat. That's really great work though. Great sci-fi creation. Don't let anyone knock you for mapping HL- I still do some work in the Q3 engine! This site seems to definitely lean HL/Source.
Yeah, that's what I encountered. Without a degree, the US and Canada won't issue a work permit for video game work. So it also depends on the options you want in your future.
There have been times when I questioned the value of my degrees, but lately I have realized how much they have allowed me to grow as an artist. The higher education is really just a great set of tools. What you do with those tools relies on your own efforts. I agree with ferret about the financial trade-off. On a technically relevant note, I wouldn't have been able to do level design work in another country without it.
Thanks, Adam bumped into me yesterday...
Thanks Phobos, everybody has been super nice. I think I'll love it!
I am sure I will bump into Adam eventually.
Never had a Commodore Amiga either. Had a Commodore 64 though, as well as an Atari 130XE.
Yeah, there were a number of highly stylized games that I played on the PS2 that had really nice facial expressions. Beyond Good and Evil was one of them, and some of the Free Radical stuff like the characters in Second Sight also had great expressions. Oh and Eternal Darkness for the Gamecube had a lot of nice facial expressions- and it was originally developed for the N64!
HL2 is still the best modern game when it comes to facial expressions though.
Good for you Dennispls! I wish you well. Killzone is sweetness.
I thought Id was doing Wolfenstein...Raven didn't do the last one.
Ahhh, I see.
Really? That's weird. I'm not dissing Raven in particular...but applicants should be able to talk to employees of a company. Check out item #6 in the legendary CliffyB's job article:
I usually don't say this about gamers, but-
get a life!
Wow, I am amazed somebody made a sci-fi map with that engine. It is similiar in feel to "Neotokyo" in Timesplitters 2. Nice atmosphere and verticality!
Sheesh! Are you guys gonna be like this all the time?
Quote from D3adsThe Makron? Seriously?!! He's a fucking pushover compared to some of the earlier bosses, just hit him with your toughest weapons and then destroy the Nexus when it becomes exposed!
Yeah, I think my attentions were elsewhere by the time I got to the end of the game...sometimes when I sense I am near the end of a game I lose interest and I am thinking of the next game I want to start in on.
Cool. Maybe I will see you about then Dark.
I'll have to post here more often now, I suppose. Maybe if I get to finishing the UT2k4 level I posted awhile back.
I guess you should add 2 more to Threewave Software:
-Adam "AdamBrome" Bromell
-Patrick "Patrick_H" Haslow
Quake 4 (still stuck on the last boss for a month now)
Devil May Cry 3
Resident Evil 4 (Mercenaries bonus mini-game)
Half-Life 2
Indigo Prophecy
Hey D3ads, when does that Silent Hill game for the PSP come out? I need a SH fix this time of year!
Hey, that's great, two Threewavers around here already! Yeah, I know they are developing an original Source game, but I really don't know if that is what I will be assigned to. I'll have to wait and see... I am busy collecting all kinds of documents for immigration/work permits to Canada.
That would be me!
I just got the job offer tonight. I haven't been around here that long, but this site has been awesomely inspirational to me and I want to thank everybody for their good ideas and overall coolness.
