I cant say much about it, because there is no good description or some screenshots. The intro video is very low detailed too. Doesnt seem to be the same style, maybe just same content (the conflict Palestine-Isreal) but the game itself looks to me like a intelligence services controle-game (what name).

Well, the content seems to be very interesting (uhm, what is more interesting than the near east conflict? imho) I cant say much about the gameplay. I didnt played it Sometimes, journalists write crap when it is about computers or videogames. In that area, medial influence through companys (Microsoft...) is higher than in other parts (ever heard of a journalist who was kicked in the ass because he revealed some swissfirst stuff? nope) or in the politics generally (only sometimes though).

i hope they don't go doom3 and spoil every moment in the game with a 'pretty' screenshot gallery

This fact bothers me everytime i look for a game or i want to buy one I think that even the backside of the game-cover reveals too much stuff sometimes. I liked the time where i didnt understand even a word what was on the cover...

Reminds me a bit of Carmageddon Only that your car is more harmless than the cars in the game  Im with insta, it needs more post-apocalyptic details.

    Hi everyone!

Today, i readed an article in "Facts" about a game called Peacemaker. Yes, dumb name but the game sounds pretty cool (for me). In this game, you can be either the israel prime minister (Ehud Olmert *barf*) or the president of palestine president (Mahmud Abbas). The minor of that game is to make peace between both sides. For example, some terrorist guys let some bombs explode in West-Jerusalem. What you gonna do? Use some cruise-missiles or start a diplomatic dialog? (Olmert wouldnt do the second thing in reality... )

    HL2 doesn't have "non-gameplay" parts... (ie. cutscenes)

Yes, but thats a movie cuttet from gameplay parts. Maybe Valve has cuttet some ray-traced movies in, you know? I know that HL2 has no cutscenes, ive played it myself.

    self shadowing?

Yes. Self Shadowing. Logically. And how is self shadowing realized? Except projected texture shadows and stencil shadows (forget the Z-buffered shadows, they suck ass)?

Nah, they look to me like a overall improved projected shadows algorithm. Or those "non-gameplay" parts are ray-traced

I didnt said that youre a jerk. I call those jerks who buy a Quadro for higher gameperformance

and all i am saying is these things shouldnt be middleware dependent but should all be 100 % done by the hardware ! and THATs what would be a real next gen graphics card !

The calculation part is done by the hardware. But you still need to program a render state system yourself.

-2) fast/good over draw/depth complexity rendering over the entire screen (dust storms for the win !!!! )-3) fast/good render state changes (finaly opening up the material bottelneck)

Thats middleware dependant silly. If the render state code in a engine is bad written, no wonder its slow. Also, some stuff is related only to the 3D-API. And per-pixel Hardware occlusion (you mean occlusion culling??) is possible.

Also, the Quadro cards are fat, very fat professional workstation graphiccards and are not thought for games (games will run thought, but you want to pay over thousands of dollars for better game-performance? jerk). People use them on machines, where scientific simulations, ray-tracing rendering, CAD and extremely detailed 3D design is done.
