I like how the engine's focus seems to be on giving content creators force multipliers that boost productivity. This is what games need imho. Less brute force graphics polish and more iteration.

The shame is that this will probably be Ubisoft exclusive tech.

All right chappos, this is it! New, free DLC for PAYDAY 2! In addition to a lot of design tweaks and balance changes, a new mission has been introduced; Election Day. This mission consists of three different levels and I did the core design/scripting/layout on these. Of course, I couldn't have done it without my level colleagues who helped me wrapped these up since I've not been doing terribly well as of late (health wise). And thanks to our art people for doing a great job (especially on Day 2)!

Check it out and let me know what you think! In particular, see if you like the combat in Day 1 and the sneaking on Day 2 (the Warehouse Day 2, you get a different Day 2 depending on your actions in Day 1). For those who've been skeptical of the recent stealth changes, those have been tweaked and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. See changelog here: http://steamcommunity.com/games/218620/a…812982516961651

Oh, and PAYDAY2 is 66% OFF, which means it is just 10 euros in the Euro region!!! And there's a free weekend right now! Go get it, people!

This map essentially has the two components any truly good map needs.

    1. Clean, readable, distinct art.

    2. Thoughtful layout.

    Good job, congrats!

watch some highlights, never seen so much shit in my life. hurr durr prefire every spot except this one case the man on our TS said they weren't there. kek.

anyway, nip played like shit, look forward to VP selling some spuds to raise the funds for DHS

weren't they on the official ts? meaning everything they said was heard on the POV stream? shouldn't someone polish pick up on that?

or maybe they were sneaky and were connected to two teamspeaks?

interesting to see a team full of hackers on the main stage! props to the poles for having such a disregard for sportsmanship!

    ?!

Assuming they didn't hack, which I don't think they did, it was well deserved. Individually, Virtus Pro players could step up in a way that NiP just couldn't do in general. Virtus Pro beasted through those two maps. GG.

My feedback is 100% based on those images alone.

    1. The global lighting settings make the lighting a bit too contrast:y. I think it will be hard to read players in some of the darker spots outside. Compare you light_env setting with mirage, inferno etc.

    2. The layout looks a bit like route-heaven and there's a great number of paths and rooms. Might be too much, which you will know...

    3. ... when you playtest the map on our server. See info here:

Right. Someone from Respawn answer me, cmon. Tell me: Who's bright idea was the smart pistol?

In my experience, the smart pistol actually requires some skill to use effectively. It's a very situational weapon and not a good of an all-rounder as the R101C.

I've been playing as well and I think that adding the AI grunts is a stroke of genius. Seriously. In all the matches I played I felt I did really well but when the scorecard came it was below average. Normally when you're owned you have to sit out the turn or get it constantly rubbed in your face. Titanfall however has you fight this online war, which is quite enjoyable, and never gives you the feeling that you suck, until the round has ended

I'm a bit torn. They are a good way of making the battles feel like an all-out war and they also provide you some cannon fodder as a Titan (I think you would feel gimped as a Titan if the only infantry you encountered was pilots). However, whenever I'm running around as a pilot I become very lazy and annoyed by them. "Uh! Do I have to turn my mouse a bit and mow down those meaningless idiotic bots?". "Bleh, I have to shoot these drones which makes me visible on the radar.". Etc.

Aye, it was a good ending but a tad underwhelming. It was one hell of a buildup for just catching one crazy guy (and not a coven/sect/group as the show seemed to imply). I was really surprised they didn't go after any co-conspirators (seeing as there were 5 men mentioned a few times, seen in the tape and crafted out of beer cans during Rust's interview). The ending did do some cool stuff I didn't expect though, like Rust finding redemption and shit.

Just saw some games from Fragbite Masters while chilling on my couch. Am I the only one who thinks that Valve's DE_Inferno is actually a bit noisy and unreadable in places? I think Mirage is the best example of good readability imho (magnarlicious).

No-mid layout sounds interesting and a bit daring, but Volcano knows this game far better than I do so I trust his wisdom.

Yeah, but does winning in this competition close the opportunity to have your map in Workshop later for possible Operation?

Probably not, but I mean from a motivational standpoint it just seems very insignificant compared to the buckaroos an operation will give you. But I do respect CEVO for hosting the contest and in a way, the map that wins will win something far more prestigious than being included in an operation. Being selected by a bunch of extremely picky competitive players who will be very critical of the layouts is a real challenge indeed.
