Well, since I was gonna rant and feel sorry for myself I thought it best to write it in a more light manner PogoP. ![]()
It is completely debilitating, I just stay in a dark room for the entire duration (if possible). I do listen to some low-volume, low-intensity music to have some sort of distraction though. Well, my doctor says it's tied to my surgery and stress. Getting major heart surgery and having your ribs cracked open and healed twice does a number on you and it takes a while for the body to truly get back to normalcy. So, the theory is that my base "stress level" is higher and it is much easier for it to peak, or join forces with other factors to induce a migraine.
Quote from MinosI've been suffering from Migraines for years. Have you tried sumatriptan already? It did wonders for me. Everytime I feel like I might have a crisis I take a pill and it goes away in 30 minutes. My quality of life improved immensely after I started taking them since my previous medicine would only work 50% of the times and the side efects were pretty brutal. Sumatriptan works 90% of the time and I never feel any side-effects. (Damn, I sound like a spam bot)
Don't think I've tried sumatriptan yet. I've tried the stuff that is supposedly one step stronger than that though and it didn't have much of an effect the times I've tried (which doesn't mean to say that sumatriptan will be of no use, it could possibly be more "compatible" with me). I will speak to my doc about it. How long does your attacks last and do you get crazy nautious? Do you get an Aura (blurred vision etc?).
Cool stuff cashed! I think it would be much easier on the eyes if the skybox was a rats-style environment (like, the pile of bricks is made smaller and placed on the floor of a room). It's a tad colourful atm.
How does wallbanging work when the blocks are models? Maybe it would be worthwhile to create invisible brushes where the blocks are and have the blocks without collisions to get accurate wallbanging?
Voted! Good luck, man. Glad to vote for a map that plays well and ISN'T a bloody warehouse lmao.
Got 2 migraines in the last 4 days. I hate this motherfucking cocksucking shitalicious fucking shit. Maybe gotten a total of 100 or so during the last year and I'm at the end of the line here. I've always gotten migraines but it was always like once or twice A YEAR before my surgery. I just can't stand getting beaten down by this shitty shit. It's always the same, always the same shitty shit. Bam, start losing my vision all of a sudden, things go black and blurry. I now have 30 minutes of blurry shitty perception to contemplate the intense shitty pain that is on it's way like a shitty fucking train. Then 3 to 4 hours of intense pain in ONE fucking shitty spot which God surely must have declared to "fuck this part of your brain in particular". Then 1-2 days of feeling sore in the head like a prison-raped asshole and feeling like a groggy little shit. Fuck. Shit. Dick. Anus. Motherfucker.
Any migraine-sufferers here that can share some survival tactics?
Quote from JetsetlemmingI was very surprised to see in the preorder thing this was a $60 game. Battlefield 4 just came out and is still deep in the thickets, customer satisfaction-wise.
I played a half dozen rounds last night. It was actually pretty ok. BF4's performance varied a lot based on the map for me, with the urban maps playing way worse. Hardline's downtown LA ran like a rural map from BF4 for me, which was an improvement. It was nearly identical in many ways to BF4, though. Same engine, same graphical options and quality by the looks of it. Similar teams, guns, equipment, gameplay, etc. There's a zip line and a grappling hook now, but I didn't get to use them yet. Only significant difference I saw is that some stuff is gated by earning money and buying it, instead of leveling up.
This doesn't really seem to be enough to make an impression on the general gamer population of "This is a totally new game worth $60!", especially since the BF4 saga's still ongoing. Seems like a PR nightmare.
The zipline is pretty cool actually, I wish they simply incorporated it into regular BF titles. The grappling hook, however, is a bit disappointing as it can only attach to pre-defined surfaces and cannot be used freely (which gives it very limited utility).
Looks pretty cool, actually! Gonna keep an eye on this.
Anyone want to play online? Pretty hard to find opponents.
I'm an old 40k-player and I crave some turn-based action.
Quote from KungFuSquirrelIf anyone wants to try the PS4 alpha, I've got a big ol' pile of North American codes + a handful of european codes. Drop me a PM! Servers are live through Sunday.
Gah! I have read this both here and your facebook before and it took until now for me to realize that I have a bloody PS4. I'm not used to being a console-owner. ![]()
Who's in the beta? I hate to be a negative nancy but in my book this is simply not shaping up to be a good game. I have tried it for maybe 2 hours and I think that if the Battlefield franchise hasn't fallen from grace already with BF4, it will with this game. Sorry to say, because I love Battlefield. ![]()
Quote from PogoPMy girlfriend has been banging on about this show called 'Orange is the New Black', a Netflix exclusive show. I caught snippets of the first series, and I've watched a few eps of the second, and I've been really enjoying it! It's quite a nice change to the traditional prison drama series, and the characters are very believable. I'd recommend giving it a watch, I need to get go back to series 1!
Just started watching this a few days ago. It's good. On season 2 ep 3 now.
Edge of Tomorrow
Entertaining! Typical, but quality, blockbuster with some good action sequences that feel physical and heavy (some plastic scenes though).
This looks like a game where a lot of pure fun can be had. Good stuff. Looking forward to dicking around in this world.
Rainbow Six looked good but it was all incredibly staged, including voice acting by players. It would be awesome if the final product was anything like the demo. I'm surprised that they are going for a non-respawning gameplay mode (which is getting rarer these days). I sincerely hope that the demo wasn't complete hogwash!
Looking forward to The Last of Us Remastered. I haven't played the original and I only have a PS4.
I'll use it in a domesticated capacity and during reasonable hours.

Just ordered a proper woofer to get that deeper bass since I'm in an electro phase right now. ![]()
Yeah, true that 2d-chris! I remember seeing The New Order footage which made the game look totally bland but playing the same gameplay sequence was quite fun.
