It's finally here. My first real release and my first try at SP.

There's a lot of things I'd like to say about the project, but I'll skip that for now and let you just download and start playing.

If you feel like submitting feedback on our feedback page, it is much appreciated! You can also post your thoughts directly here.

I hope you enjoy my little adventure!

Great thanks to the people who helped me out!

The PC version can't be far out... can it?

    Yeah that's pretty bad.

Does anyone have any insider info on this? What state the game is in?

I was just about to write something about how they "should" proceed but it seems kinda stupid as I have no idea what's going on internally.

It's already out (I updated to it a couple of days ago). Unless that was patch 1.01 or something else.

Doesn't resolve the problems as promised.

Kinda liking it so far. I don't feel comfortable with the new suit yet however... I think the sprint is too slow compared to Crysis 1 and drains too quickly. Right now it's alot easier just sitting down in a good spot and picking everyone off then to use more agility and dart around the battlefield. Also, I want to reload when I sprint! I'm not a supersoldier for nothing dammits!

    Gah...

As mentioned before I was a bit disappointed in MP and wanted to wait for the price to drop a bit.

But damn, I am hot for SP.

It better be worth it guys!

I suspect half the game's budget was used to purchase large amounts of derp.

The game looks like a half-assed free-to-play shooter from, well, Korea.

That video is just awful. It doesn't really showcase any gameplay worth mentioning; the sniping was just overly simplistic whack-a-mole. The game is just pushing you through a shitty movie.

Kaos Studios really dropped the ball on this one, Fuels of War was actually okay :/

I'm interested. It has potential and doesn't appear to be an überscripted-michaelbay-shooter, which is a huge plus.

TBH the game looks like highly concentrated "meh". But that's just how it looks, I'm all-ears for mapcore reviews!

But ME2 is a lot better then ME.

    This.

Couldn't get through ME1 but ME2 was pure awesome.

  • Questionnaire vs e-mail responses for mod feedback

    • Puddy
    • March 14, 2011 at 12:55 PM

Thanks for the suggestion e-freak, seems like the best solution.

Jetsetlemming: Yes, very true and a bonus I forgot to take into consideration. It's a lot easier answering direct questions then staring at a blank e-mail and trying to write something.

Now, my planning for the questions was just to ask the players how they would rate the mod as a whole, ask what they thought about gameplay, the environments, difficulty, story.

Are there any other questions you think we should ask? Please enlighten me if so!

A little project I've been making is just around the corner. I want your input on one thing before release though!

At the end of the game I want to encourage people to submit feedback and tell me what they liked and what they didn't etc. Now, I have two options:

    1. I provide an e-mail which they can send feedback to and let them write whatever they want

Seems more personal and pleasant but since they are writing whatever they like and not answering questions, it's hard to quantify the data and get answers to questions we'd personally like to know. It's more about feeling the general vibe and reception with this one.

    2. I provide a URL to a brief questionnaire (like modname.com/feedback)

The form will include 5-6 yes/no or "1-10 scale" questions and then a final, optional "free writing" box. More bleak and corporate but more quantifiable data and allows for personality in the final question.

Which one would you prefer and which one will provide the best feedback do you think?

If you have ideas for a third way or ideas for questions for option 2, I'd love to hear them!

each to his own I guess

I hope that ns2 will be nice but what I've tried so far (YES I KNOW IT'S A ALPHA/BETA) it's pretty tame. Obviously they can steer the ship out of the fog, but still... just sayin'!

Crysis 2 I'll pick up when it's dropped a bit in price. MP was weak but I'm looking forward to SP. Same with Bulletstorm, which I have a hard time playing full price for.

Brink, Homefront, Killzone 3 - pass!

BF3 I'm looking forward to. Deus Ex looks interesting, real interesting.

and this is so lame, especially since his comment was so weak and something you'd see quite a bit of on their forums...

    Hey dudes,

The walls in my apartment are pretty empty and being the nerd I am, I have to put gaming stuffs on zem!

Googling for this was pretty hard since most sites are utter shit or just look 100% untrustworthy.

So if you have some suggestions or ideas, lemme know!

Wow I recognized A LOT of b-movie actors from series like Mad Men and Heroes

The correct term is TV-actors imho. B-movies are a different category...

TBH the weapons don't really get better as you go.

I have unlocked all of the weapons since you know, I've played a shitload and these are the ones I use mainly (I do switch it up a little from time to time):

    Assault: XM8 Prototype

    Medic: Type 88 LMG

    Engineer: 9A91

    Sniper: SV98

As you can see, they are all relatively early unlocks. I believe that you should have all of the above at LVL12 if you have played all classes roughly equally.

    It's cool and all...

but I don't understand why so many seem to forego making an actual quality shortfilm instead of making these tribute nerd-boner-inducing flicks based on an established franchises and slap on so much postproduction in the process it is grotesque. I mean... they have the budget and the know-how. This is definitely looking better then beyond black mesa though
