Wow, we really need to playtest the map this weekend.

I really like it, could've used more game modes though.
The maps are NOT like metro. They are tight, sure. but play very differently.

I think the key thing with BM:S is that it sits on the right side of the 'when games started to look timeless' line. There's a reason few people replay 3D games from pre-2000 and that's because many of them look absolutely atrocious now, including HL1. However well-produced games after that point tend to look quite decent always will, including HL2.
This is actually quite true.
And I also agree with you on the fact that I'd prefer getting BM:S in one, polished installment.

Quote from Serenius
Just temper your optimism for your pursuit of your passion with the knowledge that most employers will treat you like garbage and work you to death, potentially destroy your love for your hobby, and once you learn a level designer's tricks, you can never unlearn them when trying to play games. Oh, and there's a high chance that even if you do good work that you'll get laid off at the end of the project because some unbroken newbie who could be paid less for similar or better quality work will likely be put through the same cycle you just experienced (or because the game you poured all of your passion and personal/professional time into could flop).
I'd like to thank Serenius for his encouraging words.

Whatever the bribe would be, it probably wouldn't be worth it IMHO.

Okay, well, I finished the game the other day. I give it a not-so-solid 4 out 5.
+
- Max Payne is still Max Payne, more cynical and funny than ever
- The gunplay is good and it's fun 9 times out of 10
- Pretty good storyline, grabbed your attention at least
- The depiction of Sao Paolo was well done
-
- Gunplay could be less defensive, less focus on cover
- The shift in location, tone and style from previous games was a bit too big
- Certain encounters are frustrating and badly designed
- Save system can be equally annoying sometimes
- Every door opening does not need a cutscene
- Terrible multiplayer

I am watching community and I am laughing my ASS OFF. I thought it would be a really half-assed goofy and pointless show.
But it's really something.

Like if I had to pay every time I started a new chapter I would probably just quit playing and go outside and ride my bicycle or something.
lol
The risks I see is that the F2P market will shortly become saturated and profits will be more hard won and that Crytek's high quality, high fidelity approach to games might not be the best fit for the average F2P-consumer who, I'm guessing, isn't sitting on a monster rig.
But I'm a bit skeptical by nature.

Seems a bit... rushed? Warface isn't even out yet and to commit 100% of your future to that business model seems a bit drastic.
But hell, I wish 'em all the best.

Liking the game overall.
But I have to say, I am so fucking pissed at it right now that I can't even describe it. Fucking idiotic encounter design at one point with even more idiotic autosave placement. Fucking fuckidy fuck fuck. DICK.

Looks like a new variant of the m26 bug. The underslung weapon probably derives it's ballistics from the weapon it's attached to, so in this case a smoke grenade is fired like an AUG bullet.

Still, it's probably not as bad as the M26 bug...
