Oh I do that anyway. I was just wondering so I could be orderly with it. I hate taking brushes out of position to check if all the unnecessary sides have nodraw on them

Hmm, I could swear I made one before. I must of not been paying close attention though or I must of been dreaming. And yes I have dreamt about mapping before

No I mean a regular rectangular brush that's been flattened to create a 2-sided brush.

I'm interested in trying out ubuntu, just for kicks. But your right linux is not for everyday use.

And I guess I should of added "indifferent" to the poll

  • Collaborative SP game?

Well if you can code in things like the combine sniper rifle, rappling and the dropship it would make the mod really stand out.

But I want to get back to the orginal idea here. How exactly is it collaborative again?

you can still tell the story through the environments.

Isn't that what Minerva does? I still haven't got around to playing that for some reason.

It's possible to make flat brushes in Hammer, my question is though, is there any use in this? Does it increase performance even a tiny bit if I used it for surfaces where only one side is showing anyway (I doubt it). And even if there isn't any benefit are there any problems created by using them, because I'd like to use them to just stay tidy in some areas.

Lego + Star Wars = Teh Win

Half-Life Lego would also be totally awesome. Hehe it could be kinda like Hammer.

Both combine and rebel point-of-view mods have already been done.

Though I have to say Combine Destiny got a pretty bad review at Planet Half-Life so it may be worth another try.

Interesting Idea. And Dissonace has something going there too. This reminds me of EOT city though. And we know what happened with that

you can't fancy up your brushwork and texturing in fear of ruining the gameplay?

If he is it would be pretty dumb since the original is not even from CS so it's not like it would have the same gameplay anyway. Even if this was a conversion of a CS map improved textures would have no effect on gameplay and fancier brushwork would only have a minimal effect if any.

Then again he may want a straight conversion to preserve the exact seem feel of the map.

It's borked for many people. For once even I had problems, though it seems to work fine now that I've restarted my computer.

Texture repetition on the beams is a bit too obvious imo. Maybe you could radomize them up a bit.
