Okay, I managed to load what looks like the main bit of brushwork in Hammer 3.5.

I removed folder paths from the texture names (not sure if that was necessary) and copied the main bit of brushwork into an empty .map file I made in hammer 3.5.

Gotta head out now, but you can probably figure out how to do it...

Looks identical to HL1 .map file format. Weird. I think you could rescue the brushwork though if that is the case with a bit of copy/paste...

Hmm GUI is always best. That quick repeat build functionality could be built into a GUI too.

I seriously thought Valve were kidding with a lot of their SDK tools, or they were temporary and going to be replaced, such a pile of balls, and I have to be logged into Steam to use them... (GRR!)

Tools aside, Hammer still has graphical glitches I have not experienced in any other game or 3D application. My card isn't shit (6600gt) and I have updated my graphics card drivers several times and no luck...

Agreed. Also although the ambience is quite nice, you could definitely do more to show off those lovely textures. Would be great to cast a bit of artificial light onto those frescos...

I pretty much love him, he could have licensed out this program to companies for silly money and made it inaccessible to the masses (a la speedtree).

A free version of speedtree, how nice that would be...

Yeah props to Blizzard, 'a large amount' of people don't lie.

Now if their next game could be some kind of stylish free mmofps, I don't care for rpgs all that much

You mapcorians are really big on getting your numbers right eh?

In future I will just say 'large amount'.

I really like the sign thing Snipa. I don't think there's anything wrong with the grungyness if the whole level is done in that style. That would look pretty hot.

I agree, a proper 'score' rating system of the maps would be better than a single vote poll. Especially since the last competition saw a few people coming out with 0 votes which is a pretty rough deal and hardly good feedback.

Though, it's like 16 maps so far so asking each voter to mark 16 maps on 4 categories could be quite a bit much to ask. That's 64 point scores to come up with there. I could imagine getting bored and just putting some average score for a lot of categories... could there be a better way?

    *anxiously awaits map-pack.

    Nice Moroes.

SnipaMasta that's nice but missing some stencil text or some kind of other contrasting detail.

Yeah it's definitely a good thing, things that can be done procedurally should be, so we can get on with the creative side of level design.

NiN are just unconvincing, mediocre rock. They're not even emo because that might require they come up with a catchy hook rather some bollocks rock chorus over some generic rock riff, which would be waaay to adventurous for them. There's nothing clever about them, their melodies suck, there's no depth. They're shite.

Why do people still listen to this middle-of-the-road, 90s-esque rock?

    /rant.

The thumb seems kinda fat and square (top left shot in particular), but then I did know this guy with the weirdest thumbs...

Gloves also look a little thin where they cut off at the fingers.

Apart from that, and that little finger being a bit short as mentioned, nice hands

That's pretty gracious of you Method.

Trapt, it's almost a carbon copy, seems kinda ridiculous to pretend you didn't copy it or at least take influence from it ..or copy it. Lucky for you Method is cool with it.
