I thought it did adjust itself automatically :X
I will have to look into that. Out of interest, what resolution are you running at, 1024 wide seems incredibly small?

This was an interesting post on the IW forums in relation to the 60% figure that has been thrown around by some spokesmen:
http://www.private-servers.info/CallOfDuty4.html
http://www.game-monitor.com/search.php? ... &game=cod4
Pirated servers:
Servers - 141
Max players - 3646
Legitimate servers:
Servers - 13245
Max players - 266326
Total amount of servers: 141+13245=13386
Percentage of pirated servers: 141/13386*100=1.05%
Total amount of players: 3646+266326=269972
Percentage of pirated players: 3646/269972*100=1.35%
facebook and youtube are blocked here, so i can only judge by screenshots. i'll send it out to some colleagues and try it out at lunch time ![]()
I don't know if they still do it, but Stea, used to just convert the £ sign to a £ sign (or whatever you local flavour of currency is). Which meant when I bought CoD4 on Steam it cost £59.99 - no game should be worth that much ![]()
On Steam it is now 34.99 - that is a pretty decent price considering all the crying about the $60 tag.
mice are for casuals.
pros use arrow keys.
Quote from Lord NedIt can look just as amazing compared to other engines, but Valve chooses not to.
I would be more inclined to say that the Source engine, even with all its updates, is quite behind the times. Unreal is a much better example of how a BSP based engine can actually do some great stuff. Also the pipeline is really nicw with Unreal, whereas Source is a mess.
i wish the game played like the trailer, rather than running between areas and hiding in small rooms shooting through walls.
hey bro, some nice stuff (texture res is a bit crazy in places
) - the one thing that i noticed whilst browsing, was that the horizontal nature of the layout makes it hard to browse on a PC, I imagine it'd be nice to swish your finger around and pull the pages sideways using an iphone, but navigating with a mouse becomes a chore, as you constantly have to have your mouse clicked on the scroll bar at the bottom, or use middle mouse and dragging (which is less than ideal).
if the site were vertical, the screenshot-links rotated 90 degress, and the images arranged vertically it would just be a case of scrolling with the mouse wheel. and i imagine it would not be that much of a chore for iphone users?
is there a major reason that you want employers to look at your portfolio on an iphone? the people that matter, who will be giving you interviews, will 99 times out of a 100 be looking at your portfolio whilst sat at their desk using at least a 22 or 24inch monitor. design for them, they are the ones that matter!
sorry to talk about the site so much, the work is great, but navigating it was a challenge ![]()
that was a fantastic video
hey at least i left off the part about being a convicted rapist
I have updated my portfolio and am now looking for work, please pass it on to your recruiters
there is a deal a guy at work got, which is get a contract phone for a year, and get a free ps3 - i think i'll go for that ;D
yarr that's the only thing that i am slightly anxious about - not being able to play with a group of people regularly. perhaps with further steam integration it will be easier to track and jump into peoples' games. but it seems the way of the community server is gone?
It is totally alright bro, like I said, I fucking love IW and I think you guys have put out some of the best games of our generation. So surely if you guys make a decision there was a good reason to do it.
I am afraid I bought into the "OH GOD THEY'RE RAPING US" hype, where as Friechamp said, we should all just wait and see what the details are.
massive sigh... i am going to have to get a ps3 for this aren't i?
fucks sake. i guess it's about time.
I love this:

yay composite, that answered pretty much all of my questions!
sounds like a pretty decent system and hopefully we will be connecting to dedicated servers rather than players.
i also wonder what happens when you have players that are of different skill levels in a party, cause no matter what happens 60% of that group will be having a "bad" time!
i also hope we can join games in progress.
thank you infinity ward for re-affirming my faith in you..
i hope that in future fourzerotwo doesn't provide half the information in a moment of glee in interviews, and ends up costing his employers potentially millions of dollars ![]()
