Quote from Lord Ned1024x768 still holds the majorty of the internet users market, so most sites get designed in that, or they use CSS or whatever to adjust for width. (Like forums)
Although it is designed purely with employers in mind; the lead artists and art directors who will be running a 22 or 24 inch by default ![]()
Quote from Thrik..the 'Thanks!' feature some forums have where you can give someone props for a good post. Kind of feels warm and fuzzy to get approval of your posts, as usually if someone likes it they just say nothing unless they have something in particular to add.
Whilst this is a nice feature, I find it's also pretty decent to be able to give a "No Thanks" to counter-balance things. I'm sure many of you here use the Chaos Engine (?) and the system is in place there. It really works nicely and there's no inherent problems. it is also not somehting that you have to use, it just exists.
yeah, after looking at some images, the one in MW2 is kinda lol, but i wonder how much you will actually notice it in the game - not just a particularly angled still screenshot.
i would be more concerned with how fuck-ugly this guy is:

i can't get over his stance either, he looks like he has no crotch. that better not be soap mctavish - we were playing as a eunuch all along! ![]()
Post rating, not thread rating.
but you're a miserable old miser.
ratings systems are a nice way to see what people actually think, sometimes there is a vocal minority that can appear to be giving the attitude of a great many more people than they actually are. where a post rating comes in useful, is to see how many people agree with what has been said. i have seen it used in a number of forums and you generally find that it doesn't interfere with the general posting, and it often improves the quality of posts because people think about what they are saying a little more.
of course it isn't a mandatory feature that must be used, but it's a nice little something that can be used out of choice.
something like this:

i'm sure the overlords can find something better, more suited to the needs of the core
Can we get a "thumbs up" and "thumbs down" -type addon for the forums please. So that users can, as it were, rate posts. That way people can get an idea of the general opinion of a topic, the forum, certain posts etc.
Thanks in advance, overseerers.
Quote from D3adsThose screens look pretty damn nice, except for a couple of things I noticed:[Blocked Image: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v221/deathcrush/mw_wtf1.jpg]
Jesus statue... made of Lego?

A building so blurred that close is not cool, looks like a HL2 skybox prop where they forgot to add LODs to the tower.
Yeah...
