I can't say I know of many games that go so far to achieve realism, and for those who enjoy realism, well they'll be having fun. I don't like how "fun" is always used to somehow make a game sound less appealing; it depends on the person's definition of "fun", some people find serial killing fun but that doesn't mean everyone does.

Very interesting, a good read. I'll be interested to see how this whole thing pans out, I was not in favour of upgrading to Vista in the first place (seems like a lot of effort for a new GUI) and this kind of thing only re-enforces my opinion.

We figured we'd go out of this year with a BANG, and so the Team has been working like crazy the past month to not only further along the game, but prepare a trailer of it for you guys to celebrate the Holidays with!

This effort represents a major effort by the entire team, as we all worked long and hard to get the game to where it is and film this thing for you guys to enjoy. All that said, ENJOY!

If you haven't released it for download, why not take the time to finish the map with the great suggestions people have given you?

If it's a magic light, make the magic more apparent, some floating sprites etc. Don't just give up, but keep at it until you have something spotlight quality, please..

This is from Max8 so not sure if this will work for you; make sure you select the alpha channel for you transparency in the material editor window, and press your Up Arrow to go back to the window (in material editor) where you have the 'Maps' menu (diffuse, spec, bump, opacity etc), make sure your TGA (or whatever) is selected in the opacity option, and select the "view map in viewport" button (the blue and white checkered square), that should do it (so you'll have the square selected in this window (with the maps etc) and in the next window (with the alpha control etc).

Also, configurations, viewports, configure driver, and select the bottom option

I believe the alphatest command simply forces 1bit, so 1bit and alphatest are just going over the top

    yay industry!

I would consider looking at the supports in the first picture again, unless you have some reference pictures I'm not sure anyone would use supports like that, they would not be very structurally sound - but I guess the roof is pretty light, which begs the question would such beefy supports need to be used ;D

Overall looks very clean (brushwork-wise), may we see an overview please?
