The MR2 isn't that good

The Lotus is not really an everyday car, unless you bought into our Norfolk spin and bought all the option extras (carpets, cd player, sun visors...).
So that leaves the Z4

Aaaaand he still doesnt like that idea. Not academic enough or something.
He suggests "Why are certain games popular?" which is my eyes is pretty damn similar to my revised suggestion

I don't think the drought is that bad, I've lived through the N64 and GameCube droughts

-
Course leader didnt like the idea as there wasn't any books on it and was too narrow.
So now its: "What factors contribute to a successful video game?" and plan to go through various games that fit different "success" models such as making profit (HL etc), market saturation (Solitaire) and good reviews but not commerical successs ( Psychonauts) and whether certain areas of the game make it more likely to be a success such as the graphics, story, gameplay, sound, franchise, publisher etc.
I'll certainly be looking for some interviews over summer so fi anyones up for that, drop me some contact details else i'll come a hunting in a month or so. I have my eye on some of you already

I agree on the staleness of the games. Mario Strikes is a welcome breath of fresh air and as I got interupted playing Zelda midway through it (pesky final projects) I'm getting back into that now.
Plus whenever we were/are drunk out comes Wii Sports and Wario

Anyone know someone with a Wii that isn’t caked in dust?
Yeah, me. All my mates who have one. They've only just really come back in stock in the UK after release in December.
I do however still know noone with a PS3 and the only time I've seen one is in the local Sony Centre window.

I can buy a D40 for less than that

But hey, you can take yours underwater

I'm thinking of doing my Dissertation next year (but they want us to start doing all the research now... :@) on either:
Graphics or Gameplay; What makes a successful game?
or a simple twist
Quality or Content; What makes a successful animation?
But have come a cropper on trying to find some decent books related to it, I figure for the first I can delve deep into reviews of games, compare with actual sales figures (where would I get these btw?) and talk to industry people for their views on it (i.e. you). Books for that side of it seem to be escaping my clutches, anytime I search for anything related to it it brings up "How to" books.
Anyone know of any books that could help me out, I'll keep trawling the libraries and Amazon in the meantime.

Thought I'd best do something productive over Summer, so why not do an insanely hard car.
About an hours work or so, lots and lots to do. Wheels nicked off my old Koenigsegg model hence the dodgy backs to them.

Tried a different style with the second one again:

Some more, not sure I like these as much as the first one.

Went for a stroll down the local beach back home with the gf last week and finally got around to checking the pictures out properly and editing them. Used my Dad's D50 as my DSLR fund hasn't got off the ground yet, well its more in the feasability stage...
Rather frustratingly I forgot to check what size he was shooting as (You'd assume with a 2GB SD card he'd have it on the max...) so these came out on the lowest JPG size. Gah. Luckily I'm back next week so will probably go retake them on a similar day.
As I said, D50 with stock 18-55mm lens resized down to reasonable size.

Shall upload more as I work my way through them all, took about 300 shots in 2 hours.

Once you're married and have a family and are tied down and stuff you can't really do that...
When I went off to Uni last year my mum got really interested in Uni stuff and did her Foundation Diploma and Art and Design (essentially a do everything in a year to find your specialisation) and next year starts her 3 year BA(Hons) Fine Art course.
Not bad for a fifty-something year old.
