Looks good, I think you should say its finished and move onto your next project.

Most of it special fx?
Quote from SkjalgI liked your first post about unit testing, but I think it lacked the part about releasing your test version -- to REALLY see if it works.I see so many modders spending over 2~3 years making their mod without any releases, and this ALWAYS fails in some way. Mostly because they havent had 1000 nubs running around in your game pointing out the obvious mistakes you've done.
If you release early and keep iterating on that early release you'll eventually end up with a project that has been altered and molded by the entire community, and it will kick ass.
Unfortunately I think that model of releasing no longer works as well as it did. These days people have very strong first impressions and minuscule long term impressions. If they don't like the first version, 90% of the time they probably won't be coming back to check.
Then again these days most people want quick fixes of action and intensity so imo mods are having a much tougher time competing with official games.
This is weird, this is almost exactly like an idea I had for my final year animation. The lecturers didn't "authorise" it though as they said it was dumb and people wouldn't get it.
/emails lecturers with spiteful email.
Quote from zaphodI wish Nintendo would open up the SDK for this and make an open app store like the iPhone has..
I thought that was the point of WiiWare and presumably DSiWare. No idea on how you get your hands on the SDK though, but they did tout it as though anyone could make stuff to get on there, not just the big companies.
Sounds lame to be honest and great for people to be arseholes on public servers. I hope its damn hard to hit people with it and that it doesnt last long at all.
It's not as bizarre as it sounds as many countries have certain areas of the Atlantic that are perfect for lurking in. They're naturally deep areas, perfectly positioned to allow easy access to anywhere and pretty well hidden from sonar. So they all hide in these little bunk holes, apparantly you can have up to 5 or so Submarines in one of these areas which could be now more than 1km square.
I was excited at first, but now I have realised it is lacking the awesome factor that is Steven Seagal. It isn't even based on it ![]()
I wonder if there will be some copyright malarky going on ![]()
*adds to list of places to eventually apply to*
Is this something Level Designers do? I can understand the need for ones for animation and modelling (turntables etc) but is it common place for level designers to do so? Was thinking of putting one together and thought that I couldn't actually remember seeing any ones by level designers.
Just throwing in some old footage for now to see what works in regards to music/timing/editing but on the whole I guess most of it would be flythroughs of maps etc. What about footage from online servers showing people playing, bad idea?
Just played a game vs the computer. How crap is this game? They seem to have got rid of 80% of the stuff from the original, everything comes out of the HQ now and what there is, is a terrible selection. All that seems to have happened is they've made it pretty and dumbed it down majorly.
Fail.
I should really get around to playing DoW, it's installed but I sort of switched off after a tutorial or two.
QuoteDisplay MoreSony boss Kaz Hirai says the Playstation 3 is deliberately difficult to develop for to ensure that games several years down the line are more advanced than those that came before them:Brandishing Sony's commitment to The Ten Year Plan, Hirai said he wants customers to feel confident their PlayStation console will not "fall by the wayside in five years" - a milestone Microsoft has yet to overcome, he pointed out.
"And," offered Hirai, "unless things go really bad, there's no way that at the end of a life cycle our competition is going have a higher install base."
Hirai also addressed the complex architecture of the PS3, which developers have openly struggled to get to grips with.
"We don't provide the 'easy to program for' console that [developers] want, because 'easy to program for' means that anybody will be able to take advantage of pretty much what the hardware can do, so then the question is what do you do for the rest of the nine-and-a-half years?" explained Hirai.
He picked God of War to show gameplay changing during long life of the PS2, and said that sort of learning curve will be the same with PS3.
"So it's a kind of - I wouldn't say a double-edged sword - but it's hard to program for, and a lot of people see the negatives of it, but if you flip that around, it means the hardware has a lot more to offer," he said.

QuoteSony Computer Entertainment boss Kaz Hirai has dismissed Microsoft and Nintendo as competitors because he sees PlayStation as the "official" industry leader."This is not meant in terms of numbers, or who's got the biggest install base, or who's selling most in any particular week or month, but I'd like to think that we continue official leadership in this industry," Hirai told Official PlayStation Magazine.
"It's difficult to talk about Nintendo, because we don't look at their console as being a competitor. They're a different world, and we operate in our world - that's the kind of way I look at things.
"And with the Xbox - again, I can't come up with one word to fit. You need a word that describes something that lacks longevity," he added with a laugh.

Oh Sony...when will you stop.
Coveted Triple Bump!
Still looking for animators!
Quote from e-freakwhat's the velocity of that baby? we had some air pressure rifles which killed the rabbits as well, so I wonder how much is left of the rabbit if you shot it with that gun o_O
CCI Standard is 1020fps with 102lb/ft of energy at the muzzle. Usually use CCI Mini Mag for hunting which push it to about 1200fps and 140lb/ft.
Air rifles here usually get to around 800fps, but the energy is limited to 12lb/ft. Rabbits certainly don't like being shot, it doesn't make them explode or anything but its definitely 1 hit 1 kill. The extra energy also helps the distance, air rifles are only really decent for 30m or so, with .22RF you can easily crack skulls at 100m.
Interesting fact, .22RF was the hitman's choice of weapon in the old days for close up execution hits. The bullet has enough energy to enter through the skull but not exit, so ricochets around inside the skull.
Now if you want exploding rabbits, I recommend a Enfield .303 ![]()
