Actually they have Prey coming out on July 13th on the 360, so it shows they still can release games, even after 8 years....

So I take it, since it's onsite, that you're only looking for people with US working permit? Or does Gearbox help you get one?

Thx for the pics. Am I the only one that's not as impressed by these as the original stuff looked back in 02? I mean, comparatively to Unreal 3 and Crysis...

Who gives a fuck if it doesn't look as good as some other stuff? What counts is that it'll have gameplay that will rip the shit out of many other games including HL2...

This is yet to be seen...

hamst3r your parents are very irresponsible i think bad parenting like that should be fined.

Either it was sarcastic and I was too daft to see it, or it wasn't and I couldn't disagree more. My parents let me do all that at an even younger age than Hamst3r here, and I never ever deceived their trust, nor have I turned into a lunatic psycho.

Back on topic, one can always count on a demagogue politician to try and rack up the votes. Now if education clearly was a priority in the US, maybe the citizens would learn not to vote for those nutjobs?

Speaking of which, i just read on ign that valve says the half-life 2 episodes are taking the place of half-life 3. Not sure why they didn't just call it Half-Life 3:Episode 1...

Actually I heard just the opposite. They were tired of going on 5-6 years projects without releasing anything, so they went the opposite way (episodes) while preparing an HL3 which would be as revolutionary tech wise as HL1 and HL2 were for their times...

  • Best Sniper levels from a "fixed" position

    • June 5, 2006 at 10:54 PM

One that comes to mind is CoD2, the desert mission where you need to radio in the coordinates of the incoming panzers. That's not a "sniper" role but it kinda is at the same time...at least to me You're supposed to be on the roof, and yes you can move but you're bound to lose the mission if you do.

That might not help, but I'd still suggest it for ideas

  • anyone else having crash problems with HL2 Episode 1?

    • Furyo
    • June 5, 2006 at 5:54 PM

I did update my drivers when Steam invited me to do so. The crashes I did have were always due to Steam recommending settings way too high for my comp (as always), so it kept freezing during loading. Once I downgraded the settings a bit, it was as smooth as can be

I've been wondering all day if I was the only one to feel the way I do about this game, and I'm glad it's the opposite. Everyone's comments hits the nail right on its head as far as I'm concerned. It's short, brilliant, the interaction, storyline, the overall flow of the game, the new additions to the characters, enemies, etc are exactly what I was hoping for. And on top of that, you get better graphics for a better performance (thx to Steam being fixed somewhat).

In short: A great masterpiece. Or as Gabe Newell put it in an interview: "I think we've just made our best SP game yet".

  • Semi-Realistic Blood Pack

    • Furyo
    • June 1, 2006 at 11:22 AM

I think these are a little too big to be realistic. They look realistic enough, but are just too big which kills the purpose. Besides (and that's an engine issue, not one with your work), the blood would splatter all around, and not just on one face. Still, somehow I think smaller sprites would make that stand out less.
