That looks like a game players would have a lot of fun in, and that's hard to come by right now....mad props ![]()

Demo was smooth as silk on my core2 duo and 8800 GTS, all details cranked up in 1600*1200
Most excellent game by all accounts, I'm just gonna have to order it

*Starts adding oil to the coming flames*
Never played the original game, though I heard only good things about it...will have to check this one out

Did I say I just couldn't wait to map for this game?
-
That's just plain stupid....
How the hell did they get approved, that's just standard

I installed the demo at work, at full details it was lagging so I'll play it tonight when I get home.
I'm just amazed at what I saw though. Absolutely top notch stuff all around, and the artistic direction is just excellent, the style is just pure ace.
Some things could have been improved technically, such as the plane's tail sinking in the water (the particles there were kinda repetitive, and not really accurate) but that's the extent of the non perfect note of 9.9 I'd give to what I saw...
As for widescreen support, I was able to choose 1680x1050 on my 20" screen here at work, so I don't really see a problem there

That's also why the initial popular votes only counted as far as picking a top 10. The real jury then picked the top 3 in that top 10, and you'll see that certain mods that weren't in the initial top 3 actually won something in the end. Even one mod that was largely #1 finished second.
But I still agree with you, as I said in the original post. The map clearly isn't my best work, let alone the best in the entire universe

And to be completely honest, I never submitted anything to Gameflood. They sent me an email telling me they liked this map and had uploaded it for me. Had it been up to me, I wouldn't even have.
It's only after a handful of days that I realized you didn't have to be selected to participate, but that anyone could enter their work too....

Well, thanks to everyone who took part in it, it would seem I won

Congrats on landing a job in one of the coolest companies in the industry
Have fun ! -
Autumn 2007 certainly marks a certain standard for the number of quality games that are gonna come out. There's like 15 major AAA titles coming out between now and Christmas.
Happy times

Just a random piece of advice, which may or may not be important to you. The longer your map's name, the harder it'll be for people to remember how to spell it and type it in the console should they wanna play it.
As for the map, I'll be looking forward to seeing it progress. I could beta test it in the future

His work method is definitely the best for any modder, and his ideas are just pure genius. Not that no one else has had them before, but he's made them work.
Hats off to Gary !

Option A is the best for texture scale obviously, but both will work just fine. 3 storeys tall max is a good limitation. Think avalanche

Finally....

Welcome to our fine little corner of the web

My game will be there, but I'm not sure I can fit in a suitcase quite yet

It's just like Guitar Hero. Proper musicians will mostly hate it, and wannabe musicians will most likely love it.
I for one am a fan of the GH series. Forget proper music, it's one game that got one thing right...it's actually a game. and it's fun, and even more when played with others.

When your cash flow is over 50 billion dollars, this isn't a hard pill to swallow.
