Sorry for everyone that lost their jobs today. I added Nurbs and Steppenwolf to the list, and deleted the entire Grin roster. Please let me know if I can be of any assistance in your future job search (and yes I mean that)

I'm liking this holiday lineup more and more. All the competition is delayed...
Now if only MW2 wouldn't ship either....
-
I won't be there but AC2 will.
-
I'm so not surprised by your results Chris...

-
Of course you are yourself. So is anyone of us. This test isn't about who you are, it's about how you interact with the world, which is only a component of your entire self.
Although if you want to talk about what defines an individual, I would argue that cultural upbringing, personal experiences and memories are a lot more what makes you unique than your personality type which can indeed share many traits with many others.
-
yeah like I said, I think the change is subtle enough. It would never be a completely different result which gives the test more credibility
-
This test, or any other should never be taken at face value. The interesting part of it all is to take it a few times over a certain amount of time, depending on major changes in your life, and see if the profile has changed.
I looked back at the original thread we had about this when I was on PoP, and unsurprisingly the results back then were a bit different. I feel there is a strong bias towards whichever situation you are at the time you take the test, or in other words, that the general situation in which you are while taking the test changes the outcome. Not that drastically, but I can personally see a pattern there.
On PoP:
Your Type is
INFJ
Introverted Intuitive Feeling Judging
Strength of the preferences %
22 25 25 11
Balanced profile, with very low levels of stress for me back then. The production was going great and I was constantly shipping my maps in time and according to my lead's expectations. Smooth sailing around the same time last year. I wasn't responsible for anything other than my own work, although I was already aspiring to that.
Right now on Assassin's Creed 2, the results changed to
INTJ
And this is exactly what I think changed. I was given (or gave myself) a lot more responsibility in a much smaller team, while working on a very important feature in the game (E3, announcements, etc). That changed my way of dealing with my work a lot, and this is something I've been told multiple times by close friends who have seen this change too. The Judging grew to 61% in this last test and 25% Feeling turned to 27% Thinking. And that just puts words on a feeling I and others had about the situation.
I would be very curious to see what the results might have been back two years ago while I was working on Dark Messiah. It's as close to the current situation as I've ever been before, only the scope of my work was 10 times what it is today, while the importance of the game as a whole was 10 times less.
So yeah again, I think these tests are only valid at a certain point in time to give you a snapshot moment of who you (at least in part) are. And that helps a lot in knowing where you want to go next.

Did the test before, INTJ is what characterizes me best.

I was initially reluctant to give this one a go, after the horrendous experience I have recently had trying the first one. It felt stiff, extremely linear and quite ugly by today's standards. But since a colleague of mine bought the second and offered to lend it to me, I said what the hell.
And this is a very pleasant surprise. The tech holds itself pretty well and while it's sometimes obvious you guys took the easy way out of certain problematic situations (justifying horses crushing through obstacles, no mount/dismount animations, extremely weird horse riding feeling, very very simple cannon exotic gameplay sequence, etc etc) these are easily forgotten in the light of the excellent feeling shooting these guns, the concentration mode that adds a lot to what would otherwise become a chore.
I'm currently in the hub part of the game before heading to Mendoza's, and I REALLY dig that you added this little part with side quests. I was talking to some colleagues how this game should have been an RPG to me, and there I find this hub tonight....
Recommended play to anyone, give it a shot when you can

Edit: Added bonus points for the ability to track your achievements progress in the menu. You took a page off Valve's playbook, and more power to you

Lol well that's also what they claim on their own website

EDIT: Oh I see this may actually the SP game...
-
So Bioshock 2 was just announced to be slipping into FY 2010. Meaning it will most likely skip the holidays completely. Arkane Studios are also working on the multiplayer it seems, which may be another reason for the delay (the more teams, the more chances)
This holiday season seems all the more set clear for the very few blockbuster releases that will come out. MW2, AC2, Conviction and Uncharted 2. Last two being exclusive titles, they'll be good candidates for a sales comparison. I actually think they're set to sell about the same.
-
How come I didn't even know it is released....I'll have to check it out tonight
-
Lol, I'm sure he'd get a kick out of that one

Anyone wishing to join the Ubisoft ranks can easily contact me for more information and help. No need to wait 6 months

-
Stepp, the studio won't open until this autumn, which probably means the need for level designers will only start in around 6 months. And even then, they won't have a handful of projects to get themselves started at first. A test project, maybe two at the same time at the most.
We in Montreal are supposed to go there and help them get set up.
-
Curious to see what impacts this will have on our studio here. I can see many opportunities to work together on certain titles, only if they specialize in very specific aspects of a production.
-
I only wish it was single player. I'm tired of playing online these days.
-
Difference is easy to spot. While OnLive would have you buy their receiver, this one is browser based and doesn't require anything but an internet connection and a device capable of running a web browser. So that makes it all the easier to have access to all games by getting rid of one more barrier.
That and they claim they don't need nearly as big an internet connection.
