Even if that is the case, its a momumental failure on the part of the of developer to leave said content in the release version of the game. It also shows how dangerous it can be to use other's assets if you're not going to be meticulous about their removal post-alpha.

It would be interesting to strip the D3 assets out of the game, then play it through and see if there were any missing textures/materials noticible anywhere.

Poor GSC I'm guessing they'll be sued like crazy, go bankrupt and that's the end of future patching for Stalker.

Dunno, prosecuting Russian/Ukrainian companies is not easy, its more likely THQ will be the ones who get it in the neck.

Nice looking work mate. Been playing a lot of DM at work lately, I'll add this to the rotation and see what folks think of it.

Are you the same Raminator who is mod at HL2 world?

I shot it, then during the rather long conversation you have with it, it asks you whether or not you want to join with it. I said no and it placed me outside the plant again. Whereupon I eventually got wiped out by the weird pulsing stuff I mentioned above.

I was kinda wondering if this was an ending or not? *shrugs*

    ***SPOILERS***

I seem to have gotten 2 completely different endings to everyone else. I have never come across the wish granter as far as I know, but I did find the C-conciousness experiment and the explanation of what the zone was, and ended up becoming becoming part of it.

Second ending (I think it was an ending?) I just ended up running about Chernobyl with some kinda weird shit white flashing nuclear pulses that eventually ended up killing me (wth is that all about).

How many endings are there does anyone know?

And, although I can't find any gameplay footage, this game was a classic on the good 'ol BBC B:

    Imogen

You can download a faithful remake of this game, here: http://imogen.ovine.net/ (only difference is that this is in colour and the original was b/w...or b/b; black and blue)

Both these are sooooo awesome. Proper memories from my childhood. I recommend downloading the new version of Imogen, its still good fun to play even like 20 years on.

You mapping skills look good but as said previously, it is very generic in terms of theme; de_train_nuke. A few custom textures and models would go a long way towards differentiating it from the crowd.

Can't comment on the playability since I haven't tried it out

Game pretty boring and bland, I don't even feel like finishing it. The AI is so robotic, there is no fun factor when fighting against them at all. Having to use band aids every second you fight is so annoying. 5 outttta 10 on this one.

Man the AI rocks in this game soo much. They intelligently take cover, never sitting out in the open once a firefight starts. You can sneak around and make them fire (and look if you watch their head anims) on outdated positions. They are aware and react to the beam from your flashlight. You can hide in the shadows and take them out unawares.

The only dodgy thing I have seen from the AI is that they occasionally bunch in doorways struggling to get through. I put this more down to bad level design and enemy placement than poor AI though.

Sure the game has many flaws but it also oozes goodness in so many ways.

Tell me about it. On the game prototype I am currently working on I continually run back and forth between 3 AI coders, 2 env artists and a lead, a lead designer, a principle designer (whatever the hell that is), an animator and the tools department.

Things move very very slowly. *sighs*

If that is what he said he doesn't know what he's talking about.

I've only ever come across three divisions in design; level, sound and systems. Most places I've worked simply classify everyone as a designer then delegate tasks based on personal skillsets and prior experience.

If you're going to work as an environment artist don't expect to have nearly much creative input in terms of level layout as you would as a designer though.

It ran great for me with static lighting but the atmosphere was totally. lost. So I thought fuck it and put the dynamic lighting on full. Bit choppy at times but well worth it for the atmosphere it provides.

Yeah I was hoping to bite the bullet and put up with a bad framerate, but with dynamics on I get half second stutters every 2-3 seconds. Basically its unplayable. On the plus side once I do get a new card I can play it through once again and it will be a totally new version of the same game and make me feel less guilty about spunking loads of cash on a new card

Got the same telly meself. I be interested in knowing what setup you use to playback HD stuff direct from your PC.

Keep meaning to grab a few things off teh nets for 'evaluating' but with my crappy 512k adsl connection it's just too painful to grab >gig torrents.

I am pretty much stuck with static lighting, whch is a pain since the dynamics add a great deal of atmosphere. I am running the game on a 7800gt which would probably be ok if I was playing at a sensible res, but my monitor is 1920x1200 so no dynamics for me till I can afford that 8800gtx I got my eye on...
