It's trying to fill that void the lack of a proper Stalker game has left us. I'm all for it.

Programming is funny in that one day, suddenly everything just clicked and programming was no longer an issue. It's one of the few skills that the overnight feeling has ever happened for me.

I've had the same, been programming for a couple years and then things just started to make more sense pretty much overnight. Our brains process things in the background 24/7, hence it's often smarter to just sleep on a problem instead of trying to find a solution right in the moment.

Did you notice how there was no road from or to wherever they were headed in that crashed vehicle? Just the tiny path for the player to take :D

Just so little to recommend it by except for the environment art, which is only occasionally inspired and often just bland.

My expectations were super high for this after the RE2 remake, which was absolutely fantastic.

Same for me, I gave up pretty much right after that long ass 'epic subversion of expectation' intro sequence. I booted it up the second time, looked at the map and just couldn't be arsed to continue (also partially because the game is viewed through a toilet roll it seems). What's with the terrible writing and story set ups lately? How are you supposed to care about what is going on/is going to happen next. ?

'Stay Human' is something their staff will struggle with after the game goes gold.[Blocked Image: https://www.comingsoon.net/assets/styd/assets/uploads/2013/01/file_171703_1_warm-bodies-set2.jpg]

And disk space required for games will be measured in Terabytes, lol.

It's already way out of control let alone when triangle count or texture resolution stop being limiting factors.

Well that and one of my ps4's has eaten my Tekken disc so I can't play disc games on it anymore ?

    What media apps are missing?

I dunno about American market but in Poland i'm missing HBO and a couple other local apps.

I'm trying to play through God of War now that the console doesn't sound like a helicopter (hello ps4 pro) and the game runs at steady 60fps :)

Sooo I got a PS5 at MSRP the other day. I used it for an hour and wondered why are people paying 250% of msrp for this? I mean, it's nice and all but there's basically no games for it still. Half of the media apps are missing too.

'Artengine' is garbage. Unity bought Artomatix which had developed the most POS software known to man :D It's been years and it still doesn't really work. AI buzzwords sell tho lmao

While the overall texture resolution was definitely improved in DOD:Source and geometry overall was of a higher quality, I always felt like DOD:Source looked and felt like a bit of a parody of the original game. Bright saturated colours, bloomy lighting, barely any dirt or grime despite all the broken down buildings everywhere. I still prefer DOD:Classic over Source, and not just because I worked on it... it just has better atmosphere in my opinion.

The noiseless art style made it very easy to play so I suppose it was a conscious choice. I do agree with the argument that original DoD felt more raw... it's hard to carry that over to the 'current gen' and maintain the visual clarity, though.

Also Quest users have a relatively cheap setup and I try to make sure they are able to hang out in my worlds.

edit : as far as the social thing, I am surprised mapcore does not already have a VR meetup. After you experience it you wont want to go back I am not kidding.

Are the girls hot? (my pandemic lay count is depressing)

Alcoholism is also big in VR. I know multiple people who have suffered deteriorated health from over drinking. Its extremely common to have a live show or club event where people pass out in game. Your concerns are easily justified.

What kind of age brackets are we talking about? I can't imagine you see a lot of people under 30 considering the hardware requirements?

I have an Index and it never crossed my mind to use it to be social lol

I've looked at some of the most popular mods and it's basically a completely different game... experience the originals first.

She had it from living the YOLO, he got it from her during the isolation and his case was much much worse... probably from inhaling that stuff 24/7 rather than just being exposed for a short period of time.

That's how it was for me, I was in contact with a COVID positive person for short amount of time and then I isolated afterwards. Took a week to get over.

A friend of mine decided to isolate with his COVID positive girlfriend to help her out (even though her case was pretty mild) and for him it was a rather bad experience (serves him right for being so dumb).
