Unfortunetly I won't get to feel that nostalgic feeling since I played Deus Ex for the first time this year. Fortunetly, it became my number one FPS game. I hope Deus Ex 3 delivers, though I need to look out for a cheap copy of IW.

Does using the Tomb Raider Legend Engine make this game un-moddable when it comes to PC by the way? Wish they stuck to UE tech.

The way I see it if you want to get into the games industry is to start working with the newer tech now before it's too late. But that doesn't mean dropping the old engines either if you enjoy working with them for small "for fun" projects.

I'm not particuallary 100% interested in working in the games industry, but there is somewhat some interest - therefore these days, almost every day I try to improve my skills working with the newer stuff.

When the day comes to get an up to date system I'd probably start working with UE3 - not sure - but at the same time I work with the Build engine for my other projects in my spare time, for fun and reletively (sp?) simple to get the results I want.

Either way, I see no problems working with older tech - ofcourse =p

For the stone wall, I notice that the bottom part of the texture is far too soft compared to the top half, giving it a major blur which I think should be make sharper - unless its my eyes playing tricks on me. As for the moss, it feels a little pasted and unrealistic. The way I'd see it, would grow on top of the stones between the cracks with bits sticking outwards over the stone rather than "pasted" over.

As for the first one, seems to be a pretty decent texture and I don't see any major faults with it, except those black shadows under the rivets (could be less black or removed all together)

Wanted to try something like it myself, but not overly pleased with the results. Need to keep practising.

Out of all the non-Build engine remakes of Duke3D's Hollywood Holocaust, that has got to be the best adaption of it on Source I have seen thus far, even if it may be only based on it this time round. I like how you're going about this and also adding more structure into all the buildings (unlike other remakes I've seen) Some good stuff there, I love it already - keep it up.

Well I'll belooking forward to this, if you can capture the feeling, atmosphere and design like SH2/3 then that'd would be even better.

Taylor: If it was a personal joke to d3ads and my post sounded a bit harsh, I apologise - I just jump on people bashing old tech too easily.

^ The best advice I could give you is to shut up and not comment on people's choice of engine. Don't like the engine? Stay away from the reply button.

D3ads: I think some small tweaks like so might help, not sure; Chair could add a little extra sense of scale, table slightly taller and bigger doorway.

It appears to be a lot tidier than the previous one in my opinion, I kind of like it. But it's going to take quite a while to get used to it.

great valve! now the sdk wont start anymore..

If its not too late already, I had the same issue. Just add "-engine ep1" to the launch options and it should load up. Unless ofcourse you've got it working already.

None. No games for either console take my interest. Neither does PC stuff right now either.

Blood - Guys over at the Postmortem just released the long awaited unofficial sequel to the original game, check it out:http://ratm.deathmask.net/

    Nice to see someone else keeping up with Blood related stuff. As for me, the old/older games I'm currently playing;

    American McGee's Alice

    Blood (same reason as D3ads)

    Daggerfall

    Deus Ex (some mods)

    Thief: The Dark Project

And ofcourse Duke3D / Doom whenever there's a new release I want to check out.
