I wasn't talking about MGS's style. I meant the way the armour sits quite close to the body and isn't particularly thick, and the same for Crysis. Those type of armours are where real armour is going, with soft/pliable material that's resistant to impact now becoming a reality. All this thick metal stuff is how the 80s imagined the future. Which is why I find it disappointing whenever I see a new game doing that kind of thing, just like 50,000 other games before it. Especially for a game I've always respected as exceedingly creative.

Dumb or not, at least they're more in line with what future armour will actually look like.

You like them tight armor asses don't you? I think the oldschool armor, big and bulky will always remain more solid looking. But hey, I think all themes, styles, ideas being used is great, I just dont want every game, espeically NS to loose the style it already has.

Yes I agree there, the tendency for most futuristic depictions of armour to be this big metal stuff is a bit weird and not particularly imaginative. While this new Natural Selection armour is very well made, I have to say it looks completely unoriginal to me and just makes of think of Quake and Halo. I really like the kind of armour depicted in Metal Gear Solid and Crysis, in that they wrap quite closely to the skin/muscles and use cushioned reinforcement and stuff like that to stop penetration rather than inches of metal — kind of like that real-life flexible orange stuff the Ministry of Defence came up with recently (we had a thread about it I think).

Seems like a much more feasible armour of the future IMO, as flexibility and strength are what the military wants.

umm no, no one should copy MGS because it has its own stylization which would look retarded outside of the Japanese game world. The Crysis suit looks really dumb, just like crysis is dumb

looks exactly like lost planet, not bad but definitely not my kind of thing at all. Imo third person shooters shoot be all about interacting with the environment since you have nice control of what your character is doing.. not just dumb running and shooting . It will probably sell millions though

How do you know there will not be?

Love how much verticality this map has, and how many choices you have~kinda makes me wish I did DM maps for a living [gametrailers]56045[/gametrailers]

I am hoping they will have a new game mode that does not involve running around in circles. (highly doubtful though) MW1 was an awesome game, but the spawning system got tedious and old after awhile. Something along the lines of DOD gameplay thrown in would draw me to the game.

The upgrades... no. A good idea, sure, but doesn't work in wolf in my opinion and makes your weapons far too strong. I'm destroying legions with an mp40.

Wait until you get the BFG-like weapon. "Oh noes big scary dude and lots of germans *BLAM* ok they're all dead now".

isn't that the point, to destroy lengions of everything, what do did you expect, sitting behind a crate throwing out flowers?
