Fantastic map.. especially at doing a locale many source mappers wouldn't attempt.

I agree with the crits people have already said about the lighting and such, definitely could use a wee bit more detail to fill out some areas.
When I first saw this the first thing I thought was NeoTokyo? ;P
The 300-esque 'I am Beowulf' ending seemed kinda dumb but the whole thing generally looks good.
good luck with your future endeavors friechamp... be it media economics or video games once again. ![]()
me and my x800pro couldn't play it. ![]()
I'd still like to get a Wii even if it only has just the appealing 1st party stuff like zelda, smash bros, mario galaxy, paper mario, i think 2nd party metroid.. and others like no more heroes when that comes out... once all those games are out you can have a pretty good time with it...
I'm not really crazy for all the cutesy nintendo stuff and gimmicky third party games . . . but the ones that will be good will be great.
it's no surprise really its outsellin both of the others.. nintendo has a knack to appeal to everyone when it wants to... 360 is a good system too with a good list of traditionally good games.. so it's doin well with the old playbook. sony is... floatin out there idk.
*and those would be good additions to the wii mrh2o
awesome I actually needed a program like this!
thanks koko... and awesome stuff you draw/digi paint. ![]()
honestly i didnt mind the no crosshair... teaches you to be in iron sights strategically
plus shootin out of iron sights felt like no scoping with the scout in css.
first person i killed actually was a no scope with the sniper rifle. ![]()
would the piece of paper thing actually work with the moving rifle not always aiming in the center of the screen anyway?
weird that you can't get to the task manager from ctrl+alt+del... that's how I get to it in Vista.
Geez that's a hard trade-off... turning UAC back on to compile?! idk if I can handle that. ![]()
reminds me of some statue of an ancient civilization.
nice work
Quote from TaylorBut it may put emphasis on the Wii effectively being a giant gimmick most people don’t care about anymore. Anyone know someone with a Wii that isn’t caked in dust?
Yes. ![]()
If this were true it'd just show Sony is now getting pathetic... but I doubt it's true... this just seems too ridiculous.
though I suppose stranger things have happened.
i vote that the little window fence in the second shot should be either a model or two brushes with the bottom brush being thinner y'know.
But the rest of the map is looking wonderful.
turns out the Please stand by screen is actually the game.... it's gonna be a 2d adventure game. All those concept shots were just red herrings.
well idk bout you guys but here it's only 2:23 am on Jun 5th.. so I wouldn't be all up on them as bad as you are...
Well, a lot of the mainstream artists are pretentious and that sucks... but we can't really tell if there is a deeper meaning to a giant hall filled with thousands of polyethylene crates stacked in a specific manner... truthfully im sure no one here actually tried to look for a deeper meaning and instead saw a picture and was like "come on that's ridiculous" ... I myself thought similarly, but it's hard to get to that level of random creativity in our heads...
I kinda see games as a culmination of art assets with the explicit goal of entertainment... and the art assets don't really have any meaning but are there to make environments believable and/or interesting. Really it's the gameplay that has the potential to be an art form... unless you have a good story driven game or something..
that was pretty cool... ima go introspect now.
well, I think one thing that makes it hard for games to be art in the minds of a lot of people is the fact that you're playing it. Games overall are supposed to be entertaining in some fashion which leads people to think the range of emotion a game could deliver is limited... and maybe for the moment it is.
Of course there's 3d art.. which is regarded as art by a lot of people.. 3d scenes, abstract or realistic... I mean you could use a game engine and make a piece out of that .. that's no problem... but when you factor in people's different interactions with playing something that was designed to be fun.. that's where it's hard to say it's art.
Now if there was a way to feature that interaction with people as part of the perspective of it being art.. then a game could be art.. I think though it has to be a conscious effort by the developer of the game to make it art or make it enjoyable/entertaining... so I'd probably expect this from an independent game a lot sooner than a big published game.
2 cents.
awesome man have a good time!
