    the airplane is awefully brushed D: make it a model and give it a propper material with cool shaders (phong for example)

    not yet another commander keen D: in any way: commander keen games were the best jump and runs avaible on pc in the 90s. though i had no SNES and i could only play keen on my 486 DX2 66Mhz

    this model will better be awesome!

    i got a vanguard tripod. they are pretty cool to take pictures of people or skies (if you want to create environmentmaps) or in dark areas such as freak mentioned already.

    hope we can see some pcitures soon. greetings

    i have to agree with warby: i dont see any reason why this model would require a normalmap. you pretty much modeled the whole geometry.

    normalmaps work great on characters and organic soft materials with lots of folds. if you want it to look more 3d better add more polies and invest some time into LODs. though a trashcan wont be such a big eyecatcher in a game. even if it would be the best trashcan ever made in a game! i hope you understood what i wanted to tell you with that statement

    greetings.

    i did never try out max payne editor. all i know for now: max payne does not run on winxp somehow. i tried several times but after loading the level it crashed with a windows error like "had to close the app suddenly".

    calling fear boring is exactly what i would do. i did never "flash" on that game. nice graphics here and there but ugly shadows and lighting. blocky leveldesign/-art. a friend of mine tried the fear SDK but he did quit because it seemed to be a pain in the ass.

    does fear have a big online community? i would bet its not as big as the unreal and half-life universe.

    if you call the editor so handsome i'd like to take a look on the whole stuff but atm i have no time. so why dont you make a beginner (video-)tutorial?

    looking really nice. get this baby uv mapped and i will make a tutorial on how to bake textures so people can easily texture it

    though i like the ww2 setting. gives you a lot of possibilities in leveldesign and art.

    yay. i was taking a photo into one of those 100% reflectivity balls my mum placed in our garden. would be cool to make HDR skies with one shot. focus on the reflection in the ball -> photo -> apply onto a half sphere in maya -> hit render

    mh. i think there was a command to scale the bumpness. though you could include a second normalmap that would be used for hdr. of course that would increase data volume, but unless you seem to be focused on the graphical quality you should consider this.

    did the bumpscale have any effect anything else? i just heard the command and did never use it before.

    you can scale the bump effect and there is a special option where you can put specific properties for specific graphic modes. for example to lower the intensity of reflections while running in hdr mode.

    Code
    "LightmappedGeneric"

    {

    	"$basetexture" "wood01"

    	"$bumpmap" "wood01_normal"

    	"$envmap" "env_cubemap"

    	"$normalmapalphaenvmapmask" 1

    	"$envmapcontrast" .2

    	"$envmapsaturation" .7

    	"$envmaptint" "[ .72 .72 .72 ]"

    	"$fresnelreflection" "1.3"

     		"lightmappedgeneric_HDR_dx9"

     		{

      			"$envmaptint" "[.15 .15 .15]"

    		}

    }

    check out the valve developer wiki: http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki ... Parameters

    Code
    "$bumpscale"

    didnt do that my self yet, but it is supposed to work.

    limited bandwitdh? like 10GByte/month? well you could download this stuff partially. you can pick specific file of a torrent release. so you pick like 250 this month and then 250 next month. i will try to keep this tracker running for as long as possible.

    rapidshare. LOL. that was a good one. dude this is 4GB and rapidshare is only allowing 1 transfer at a time. you can calculated how long this would probably take? though there is no problem with torrents. it is fully legal and speeds are as good as you are uploading and sharing. i think thats a pretty easy and fair way to release stuff.

    Nice, very good of you to do this man Are these mostly of use as texture photosources, or more for reference/inspiration?

    contains a lot of texture material but also a couple of inspiration photos.
