Hessi he isn't attempting DOF, he is attempting tilt shifting (http://%7boption%7d).He didn't do a bad job either imo. The first shot is a little off, but second is almost perfect for a tilt shift, it just needs more to make it look even cooler.
non the less his screenshots look ass.

this blur is totally out of place. you better take a look at photos and when this blur appears. basically you get a stronger blur effect the higher the focal length is. you shots always have a 90° FOV so the focal length would be around 18mm which is too low.
conclusion: stop this DOF shit if you don't know how and when.

Probably this would only require a recompile. Maybe minor changes.

thanks everybody! i had a nice day at home with some kind of family reunion.
and of course my girlfriend was here, too. so no big excessive drinking but a nice home made restaurant like dinner.

oh i just found PanoLab. great app for creating panorama images directly on the iphone. sadly there is no image blending in the free version, but it is still nice if you just want to quickly stich a few images and mail them.

if you purchase an iphone in italy (no sim lock) you usually pay 500 euro. giving a common contract you maybe pay around 20 euros for an unlimited voice and internet usage. the time base is usually 2 years. 500 + 24*20 = 500 + 480 = 980 euro. so overall the t-mobile contract might sound like a rip off, but for what i get it is ok. i can now even use the hotspots in ICE trains or public t-mobile hotspots. this allows faster internet access. and besides: the iphone is not just a phone. it is also videoplayer, mail client, webbrowser and so on. so the higher price is well worth it. best gadget for geeks!

WTFail! have you ever heard of lucas art's adventure games?

i have a jailbroken 3g iphone with a legit t-mobile contract (which is the german iphone service provider). so the jailbreak is just for having FTP access, emulators and ScummVM
no need for unlock here -

ok i bought wario land shake it yesterday while i was so frustrated not to find nice shoes fitting my feet.
my very first reaction was a bit frustration because there is no voice acting - just this lego star wars like mumbling. after i beat the first level i am much more happy with the game since it offers everything i expect from a jump and run game: collecting stuff in a level, achieving various bonus items, fast action (those "finish the level in under XX seconds" things). the graphics are nice but the controls make me tired. basically i can only play a level and then turn the game off and do something else. but imo that is just fine since i am not that much a hardcore gamer anymore. i usually play for like 30 minutes just inbetween two tasks to relax my brain
i would give the game a good 80% rating. if you like the jump and run genre, then check it out. if you are afraid of 2d graphics, then better stay away.

well that may be but this still doesnt change that you are forced to work with their tools. i for myself have a course where we have to use a certain windows software that is 1. not free and 2. only runs on windows (while maybe 10% of the class use Redmonds OS). so your class has a similar problem. you want to do something and need a development base. choosing other software is not the point of my concern. the deal is that they just put you there and tell you what to do. imo that is not what a university education should look like.

This is why I still refuse to buy Crysis (although I'll have to buy it as soon as I start with the Uni (they are using Cryengine 2)).
they let you buy a game for university? that's like if microsoft/apple came and told us we have to buy their OS. i am sorry but i don't see the point that a university is teaching tools and not concepts. for example it is up to us if we want to use what ever programming language in a research project or what ever software APIs you use. all you get is a basic understanding of what all programming languages/APIs might offer so you can decide on your own.
this behavior of "YOU HAVE TO LEARN WORKING WITH THESE TOOLS" is total bullshit. i might suspect that this is of cryteks interest that students learn working with their tools so that you either work for them and they had not to invest in your skills or that you start at a different company and purchase a license.
anyway: i don't want to spoil your fun but i get some bad taste while reading this.

referring to my other thread (viewtopic.php?f=23&t=13097): what is your opinion on wario?
-
i actually played god of war. didnt like it. kind of a button masher game

-
i have a daxter game on psp + ratchet and clank on psp. both games are good, but the last one annoys me with a stupid space shooting stage i dont get through.
oh and no PS2/3 here. must be either xbox or wii (or PC) -
ok i have some money to spend for a decent game. i am really digging the jump and run or platformer genre. games i really enjoyed were:
on wii:
[*:32jjm17g]super mario galaxy
[*:32jjm17g]super paper mario
on xbox:
[*:32jjm17g]psychonauts
[*:32jjm17g]conker live and reloaded
on PSX:
[*:32jjm17g]all the crash bandicoot titles
i was considering to buy the crash bandicoot wii titles but they all got only 70% ratings so they might be shit. on metacritic there is a wide range of ratings so the title might be suiting me well but i am carefull with my money nowadays. so if you have game i should check out and that falls into my preference for cartoon games (so god of war and prince of persia are out of a question) then let me know.
what about:
wario land shake it (wii)
Crash Bandicoot: Mind over Mutant (wii)
zack and wiki (wii)
okami (wii)
