Operation Flashpoint I'd play about 12 hours a day during holidays. Sometimes up to 18 hours. I really did get lost in it.

I loved Operation Flashpoint. Spent most of my freshman year in high school playing it. The missions were so fun, and the level editor was sweet.

I think one of the pro line cards like nVidias Quadro series or ATIs FireGL series. Those are the ones professional animators use in varios effect houses in the movie industry. BUT, they are only good when modelling, most of the rendering process is going through your CPU and Memory, so if you are just looking for rendering and not modelling platform, you could aswell buy 10 Xboxes and link them togehter and put a linux render farm on them and run that with supercomputer results.

FYI this is for my work. We are having problems with VIZ crashing all the time. The xbox thing seems a little extreme to me. I was actually thinking about setting up a dedicated server type thing because VIZ comes with a network render. I just need to find time to figure it out.

didn't run too great on my machine, but still fun. the scene where your in the coridor was kinda cool, didn't creap me out as much as i wished though. the part where those three super soldier guys busted through a door was awosme. and i liked to guns as well.

they're releasing an expansion pack for half-life 2, but its not like the exp packs for the original, instead its whats going to happen after the citadel explodes, which i think is total fucking bullshit. save the good stuff for half-life 3.

expansion packs are OK. I thought the expansion packs for hl1 like opposing force and blueshift were awsome. you got to see the same story through the eyes of a different character. They add a little more to the game until they release a sequal or whatever.

i know its not for gaming, and i use it for architectural crap at my work, but it seems to be the same thing, minus everything used for gaming. but using viz seems easier and i was wondering if it was the same thing as max(applying UVW maps and all that other stuff in the modifier list).
