I suggest you check out this serie of videos. Great information on portrait photography put really simple.
Well first of all I like the fact that there is a clear key light coming from the left which makes the shadows look right on the face (you know the basic three point lighting stuff). Strong light also makes the skin looks nice and soft which works especially well on women. The highlights could be slightly toned down to reduce the burning effect. I understand you may not have the possibility to add a fill light to lighten up the right side of the face (could also be done with a white reflector).
The last one has the best lighting I've seen in your portraits so far. Could have been even better with the models head tilted slightly downwards.

I've always wanted to have a boxer so I gotta love the last one. I really like the bokeh on that one too. Creamy mmmh. Is it straight out of the lens or did you edit it somehow?
Aah flower macros my favourites. Good colors and nicely sharp. Tho, on the first one I think point of focus could have been a bit closer.
I find outside base geometry a bit odd but I like the way you did that uphill route to the flag.
I'm always pleased when third party lenses provide images of such good quality.
I like the last one. Snow on the branches makes it look like they were pasted on a blurred background photo. Altho I'd say No. 5 is my fav. What's the red halo on the right tho...

Nothing special really. Just positioned the flowers on a table around 2-3 meters from the window right behind them The window gave the nice back light and provides the burned out white background. The room was overall quite well lit so it provided enough illumination for the subject itself. With 4 I think I had a normal ceiling light switched on which brought some light from the left to the scene.
Well actually the first two were the only ones which worked the way I initially planned. However, I liked these few others too and they go with the theme.

hmm im about to buy a canon 300 digital rebel. with a broken flitser and only the body, because im a poor bastard. is the kitlens recommendable or should i go for another one? any tips? and do you guys offenly use the built-in flitser? is it any good (i might want to get it repaired then)..
I don't have much experience in Canon cameras but I personally wouldn't want to buy a 300d because there are alternative options in three newer generations of that product line with better attributes and stats (higher res, better af, etc.) Of course it depends very much on the bargain you're getting. You can probably get a new 300d for around 500€. Drop half of that away because it's used and another half for it being broken. Yeah so it's probably not worth paying much over 100€.
Flitser=flash? Not sure how much it would cost to fix. I'd guess relativly much. Also, external flashes aren't very cheap so buying a new one would probably cost as much as you'll be paying for that camera.
It's usually best to look out because you're appetite is likely to get bigger. If were talking about the 18-55 kit lens, it might do the job in the beginning but you'll soon start wanting something better. I also personally hated the way that lens feels in hand when I tried it. Getting something better is of course again pricier. I've heard that the 17-85 which comes with 40D is pretty decent.
Good pictures. I like the ones with yellow tan best.
You've managed to control that lens pretty well. I got the same one as my kit lens and I'm really not happy with it. Pics taken with it almost always need to be resized down and sharpened in order to make them satisfying which is bad. However, I've found it to work pretty well on close portraits, especially when using a speed light.
You can also try some of the stock photography sites like istock. They'll pay you the royalty. You can earn a couple bucks but don't expect to make yourself a fortune.
I have a question
Well I guess you can use the exposure compensation to adjust the EV to +1 or -1 and so on until you cover as much of the dynamic range as possible...
I usually shoot a nine shot burst with auto-bracketing giving me -4 -3 -2 -1 0 +1 +2 +3 +4 EV
Sadly no. We only had a few short stops and I didn't bother taking pictures through the window of a moving bus as they would have sucked anyway.

That sea picture is actually from the Baltic sea. We traveled from Helsinki to Rostock, and after that we sat over 20 hours in a bus driving through Germany to France. It's quite annoying to sit that long in a bus but it's a lot cheaper than flying + you get to see pretty nice landscapes.
