Damnit, I was wondering if we'd hear about S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 for Christmas and now this
That concept art just makes me feel worse about it, a example of awesome stuff we'll never get to play

QuoteDisplay MoreSix hundred million gamers could be war criminals, Red Cross saysTHE Red Cross is investigating whether 600 million gamers are violating the Hague and Geneva conventions when they kill and blow stuff up for fun.
Delegates at the 31st International Conference of the Red Cross (ICRC) and Red Crescent raised the concerns over the potential “International Humanitarian Law” violations – which can constitute war crimes - during a workshop in Geneva.
“Exactly how video games influence individuals is a hotly debated topic, but for the first time, Movement partners discussed our role and responsibility to take action against violations of IHL in video games,” the Red Cross wrote in its daily bulletin.
“While National Societies shared their experiences and opinions, there is clearly no simple answer. There is, however, an overall consensus and motivation to take action.”
A spokesperson for ICRC Australia told news.com.au the workshop looked at how games “represented International Humanitarian Law”, which regulates the legal conduct of warfare.
"The aim for the ICRC is that they send the right signals to their hundreds of millions of players by rewarding respect for IHL and penalising violations," the spokesperson said.
The Red Cross said if it finds the conventions have been violated, they may ask game developers to conform to international laws or encourage governments to create laws that regulate the gaming industry, Kotaku reported.
But international law professor at the University of New South Wales Anthony Billingsley told news.com.au the Red Cross risked trivialising the conventions of warfare.
Mr Billingsley also said there is no way the conventions could apply to individuals because they were state-based.
“There are concerns about the blurring of fantasy and reality,” he said.
“There’s a danger of war becoming a spectator sport. People need to realise that this is real stuff.”
The International Committee of the Red Cross is empowered by the Geneva Conventions to protect victims of international and domestic armed conflicts.

Best bit...

Oh God... this made my day

I thought that those textures were nicely made but kinda weird colour wise, the art clashed a lot in that area imho. That's one of the areas I was talking about and probably what Rick meant...

I made a palm tree once, it took me 5-10 hours

Quotea palm tree would take a professional artist all of 5-10 minutes

I figured it was more of a 3D thing more than 2D!

I randomly found this site today, very useful if you're modelling a vehicle but you don't have all the perfect photo references available, lots of screenshots of vehicles from various games you can use;
Thought you guys would find it useful

I finally got past that problem area in Dead Space 2, pretty much just spammed all my guns in quick succession plus stasis and I still only just made it through the door! Enjoying the game again now, up to chapter 10 where you're
Quoteback on the Ishimura again, feels strange being back there so soon, like the feeling I had when playing HL: Opposing Force.
. One thing that really urks me about DS2 is how bodies disappear when there's a lot of them in an area, so you lose any pickups they once had... this happens pretty often when you're fighting off about 20 enemies at a time and don't have the time to stomp corpses because you're too busy shooting limbs off or pressing "x" to not die until your hands bleed

Let me guess, the fight with Lazarabitch?

Bingo, that section exactly.. I almost threw my controller across the room in frustration! Having just got past the awesome
Quoterocket jump through flying debris
, it feels like a slap in the face to be tasked with this nightmare

That's a game I need to finish playing, got stuck in chapter 7 on a level where enemies constantly respawn and kill me, can't get past it.. hate it when that happens

I kinda ruined the train level illusion in U2 by hanging from the outside and noticing that the environment loops
I mean it was obvious it did but you're not supposed to notice. The bit on the Tibetan cliffsides with the waterfall is just one big circle too :xBtw I'm not HL2's biggest fan as many of you know but I loved Ravenholm, I wished it was longer!

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
F.E.A.R. 1/2
