True Zacker, I think you can't blame Valve for being attacked by 'skilled hackers' since Valve is so high profile these days, there's always one or two hackers bound to find a way in there, they have probarbly had alot more people try to hack them than just these 2 guys.

People blame it on lack of security, I blame it on valve being so popular that alot of hackers know alot about them ;P

This community could, if everyone want's to do it, probarbly atleast pull of a stunning level design section, and possibly modeling/ 2d art., I could write some music if i don't get my source engine skills up to par

And maybe some people here know other people who can code.

It ould be cool to have a community project like that, alot of people means alot of brilliant ideas right?

Might be a better idea if it was a 'community mod' or something like that, since then it's not just random people.

Also i just noticed, on the last screenshot, you might want to add a trim to where the roof meets the wall, now it looks like some of the roof is stuck in the wall and the first couple of (i don't know how you call them) roof curved stone red things, look a bit off it's not realy common to cut them up to fit like that in real life.

The ligthing is indeed the only comment i can come up with, but alot of cs players like well lit (or ..in other words nearly full bright) maps.

Even on dust alot of players krank up the gamma because there's 'one or two' dark spots in the map, so I think gameplay wise it's not too bad to have such lighting, it just looks uglyish to people who really concentrate on how a map looks, most 1.6 players don't though so i wouldn't worry about it too much.

Voodoo, you could try some dimish green lighting sceme or something.

Reno's right on it being a bit too dark at the moment, or atleast the screenshots are.

Looks stunning, not a thing that's looking out of place so the atmpsphere is indeed really great.

Reno always has odd ideas, but so far I've seen most of them come together to be a neat map so I'm curious what you end up doing with this one Reno. ^^

Anyways, most comp entries look way more interesting than expected, I think I need to up my skill a bit before I enter a comp eh *Get's out a hammer and some nails*

It looks nice, but i think the skybox texture is a bit out of place with the brightish lights.

A sky like that would imo have a bit of a darker country side beneath it.

  • S.T.A.L.K.E.R uses Doom3 assets

Well, my opinion on this is that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. has probarbly just used doom 3, and hamy half life 2, and maybe other games, as examples of work they would like to re-create.

And then if they did, or if they took the game's files and edited them a little bit, and it looks good, why complain about it.

Sure it's cooler and harder to make everything yourself, but why re-make something instead of using what's out there, since you want it to look like that anyway.

Ofcourse this doesn't clear up the fact that the material is not allowed to sell, but I'm pretty confident that they'll have some kind of deal going, if you're posting extracting tools and planning to let modders have a bang at your game you'd be a right idiot to leave in material that's illigal right?

Anyways, wonder what the outcome of this find will be

Man, i still remember seeing the first screenshots ever of this in a PC gamer issue or something, from that point on, 5 years ago, i've just been waiting, and waiting hehe.

Even if it turns out crap, i'm happy they made the game gold ifnaly and released it, it's such an awsome concept and i've always wanted to wonder around ' the zone', maybe i'll get to do that irl sometime in the future

Props to the developers that managed to release the game even after so many delays and missed release dates, would have been a hsame if it was cancelled, i hope for them that it sells mad and thye all get a nice reward for the game .

I have no words for this, maybe... perfect?

I looked at the screenies before i read ur post and i swear i wouldn't have thought it was gold source untill i read it.

congrats on your wel ldeserved spotlight status, and i hope you've got more of this crazy stuff in you, this is just amaizing.

I can't really think of anything to critisize in this, and ususaly i'm pretty sharp on finding oddities and badly made stuff, if the gameplay is good this map is just perfect!

kidding me?.. you can never have to many screenshots

Unless you're at school on something that feels like 56k

But it was well worth the wait

well at home i got 20mbit. and at school i have 30mbit+.. so i dont have to wait ...

At home i have like 20 or something aswel, at school it's like a 1 gig line ,but everyone's online gaming constantly, lagging everything out hehe.

Had a run round the map, no other players though ,so i couldn't check out the gameplay, but you can run through it fairly easily without hanging behind door frames and stuff like that, had no fps drops on my pc.

And it looked nicer in-game, the textures look much better when you jsut run passed them, since you don't focus on the masmuch in-game as you do with screenshots ofcourse.

It's a nice map and i can't wait to play it with some more players to see if the gameplay adds up to make this a very nice map indeed.

Looks fairly ok, symbols on the grip would be nice, and i think a nunchuck (spelling? ) could use a bit of a large chain between the two bars, now you'll end up slapping yourself all over the place i think

Indeed the brushwork looks stunning here Can't judge the lighting properly on this stone age pc.

Some textures look like thye could be improved, but nothign i could do better, good stuff, i'll download it whne i get home in a couple of hours.

    Love the jelly

Also cool that the lighting etc. stays correct on such complex moving surefaces.

I guess the weight of the skeleton was a bit off but that's not very hard to fix i think, might just be some parameters that they didn't give a second glance since it doesn't really matter, what matters is how it breaks apart and falls to the ground ,that whent nicely, though now you might just assume it's a foam skeleton instead of bone
