I enjoy arma a lot with its obnoxious 150 keys to prone and the bug legion since operation flashpoint; i guess i won't be disorientated. How the melee fights works btw ? is it shitty ? it's hard to figure out melee combat in arma

Except for the gigantic terrain, the arma 2 engine is just not made for that
, i can't imagine the hassle to be a programmer on this. Pretty much pumped to play it though, especially since i didn't played the mod and heard all of these magnificent moments of roleplaying from friends

Great idea Efreak
but that's too late, the mesh is pretty simple, basically i also get that with simple modular planes (????)The bleeding is an issue chainsaw, but i'm getting that before even baking something; so that's what is weird.
Oh and i'm using ASEs as meshes? maybe something coming from that ?

Anyhow thanks a lot guys!

edit: that's what i get after baking, if you forget the bleeding errors
maybe it has something to do with the meshes not having any direct lights on them ? i dunno[Blocked Image: http://s8.postimg.org/mady9tjf8/udkshadows.jpg]

Hey guys ! noob udk question here i guess

I have this same object copied several times (very simple stuff with hard smoothgroups) but as you can see in the picture bellow, it doesn't seems to light the same in udk depending on it's position (or instance ?). There is no lightmaps baked on it, but it's there even if i bake one.
Do you have any idea from where it can come from ?

Totally agree with you mino, i don't mind the game to not look amazing (although just a bit more nicer would be cool) but i'd really like it to have the more unique and alive environments as possible with a tons of quests items etc
but hahhh it's hard to believe -
OMG i hope it has the same ugly engine and graphics as fallout 3 & NV but retrospectively has a LOT of stuff to explore, items and quests to do !! but that seems not likely

using a small normalmap palette where I got some common angles for 90deg, 45 and so on (hard edges that is).
Even if you do hard edge something and its not exactly 90 or 45 degrees between the faces a lot of times it's close enough to where you can force your normals to be either manually.
Can you share this color palette philip ?

It's in your normal map apparently, so that must be a baking issue

did you try using connects at the edges on your lowpoly when baking the normal in xnormal ?

Very cool to see some skyrim stuff, it could be very interesting

I can't really judge on the level design, but i know i've seen so much of these tombs in skyrim to the point of exhaustion. Maybe you could vary the "biomes" in your level, start by the tomb then have a path in an iced cave, or an underground forest. The reward of the dungeon can also be the discovery of an unique and original environment.
An idea would be to use unreachable heights to place items that you have to shot with the bow to get them, i always liked that in the recent elder scrolls, it is unexpected and makes you feel really clever
Looking forward to see what you do mate

This looks like an astonishingly deep and profound story about human nature, the quest for identity and our desire to serve and protect the people we love and mankind too why not. This looks fabulous, i can't wait

I'm not playing diablo3 but i'm definitely in love with this character design

I hope we hit photo real sooner rather than later, we can then move onto other things
What happened with painting

I think it's ingame though because you can see some subtle flickering on the left pillar at the bottom
