Here's a creepy tree in the same vein as the one above that I made a while back.

Had no thought about the scale of the texture when creating it. It isn't even supposed to be used in-game. It was just meant to help me improve my overall hand-texturing abilities. Practice, if you will.

Well they look fricken great. What did you mean by the gradient tool is so good?

Any chance of a quick tutorial on how you did them? Even 5 minutes of your time would be invaluable.

    Good job.

Any way you can translate that for us? The images only tell so much...

Long time no post...Some nice stuff in this thread.

I had an urge to do something different than the usual stuff I do

so this is what I came up with.

A space ship door I think.

Wanted to combine old mechanical look with something high tech.

Absolutely gorgeous. How do you do it, man? Is this Photoshop?

Edit: Looked at is closer and wanted to add a "fucking" between 'Absolutely' and 'gorgeous'.

Spine, would you mind spending ~5 minutes telling us how you went about making different aspects of these textures? I would REALLY appreciate it (and I'm sure everyone else would too)!

Yeah they both deserve props. The second half of Bic's images didn't load for me for some reason.

ferret: that just keeps getting better and better Cant say i like doing architectural stuff in max myself, makes me wish i could make steam/hammer work =)

oh well, on with another pic. Looks weird as i loaded a mo-cap file thats done for a "regular" biped, not mine as its scaled sortof "weird" in some places to fit the character, so as a result, the legs look a bit fucked up.

oh, and pay no attention to the car in the background

Looks cool to me. What's the basic workflow for getting and working with motion cap data?

What do you guys think? Is this texture worth making a model for? It would be for CS:S.

    Hey h2,

Would you mind giving a quick step-by-step on how you went about making this?

    Hey vivi,

What tools are you using to get your models into the game? (which exporter, which model compiler etc?)
