RIP. I'll never forget his performance in Apocalypse Now. -

I have some issues with the continuous camera scale-out methodology.
I liked the scale-out methodology, it added another layer to the exploration. With the pixelated graphics, as it zooms out the scene becomes sharper and more detailed. Thought it was an interesting approach.

Found the art and music to be very interesting. Not breaking any molds as far as gameplay goes, but I think it's worth a play thru!

Again. Stepped on my last pair and squashed them beyond repair. Bought a pair of Oakley Wardens.. got stolen. So back to the Splinter for now.

Looks interesting. I like DiCaprio. Dislike Nolan after that utter garbage Dark Knight. I'd be curious to see how this turns out.
The music is already giving it a Dark Knight feel, not to mention I spotted a few members of that cast in the previews! And some ooh-ahh special effects, which all either seemed shoehorned in at the expense of the plot or used as distractions from gigantic plot holes in Dark Knight.
I liked Christian Bale before Dark Knight too, though, I hope this one doesn't ruin DiCaprio for me. Nolan made Bale into Growly McBroodypants in D.K., it'll take a while before I can take Bale seriously again.
edit: sorry, I'm still sore about DK. He did well with Begins.

The detail on the strings is incredible. The ends especially. Wow.

Looks good, except the tires, which seem disproportional, even after looking at a picture of the Humber Pig.
Tires look pretty close to the right size to me, but the wheels look too small and the hub looks too big, both in diameter and height. Also the hub is more perpendicular(straight sided cylinder, not as tapered as modeled)

hmm i think about getting a projector for a home cinema. There is this relatively new german company who offers a 720p lcd projector for only ~500 Euro and they got some decent reviews. Usualy these things cost twice the price and full HD projectors cost even more.Would be quite a big investment for me but still its quite tempting. I watch a lot of movies so i would really love to see them in a big ass ratio. Would also be cool for playing games from my bed. Anyone here own a projector?
I used to have an NEC projector, LT series I think. Most of the time it was hooked to my computer or a PS3. Although it isn't really HD, it still looked pretty awesome. (I think its native res was 1024x768?)
Unless you don't mind only using it during the night(or don't mind the contrast being pretty weak), be sure to put it in a room with no windows. Even a small amount of ambient light really kills it. Although we were just projecting it onto a white wall, no screen, so I'm sure that hurt the contrast when lighting wasn't flawless. (see below about being poor college kids
) Honestly, gaming was fine for the most part during the day. Didn't look the best, but that doesn't matter as much as with a movie. We had it running for around a year and a half before the bulb died, and no one wanted to pitch in to get a replacement because we're broke ass college students. It's still set up, just doesn't work. The bulb really lasted a long time, it had an enormous amount of hours on it before it gave out, well over 2000.
Hmm, doing the math, there are roughly 13000 hours in a year and a half, and the projector was on for over 2000 of those hours. That is 15% of the time!!!

Thankfully, other than the occasional movie and a month or so of playing fallout 3, most of it was used by one of my roommates for ps3 games... terrible ones too. Like sonic unleashed.
For what it's worth, there is nothing like a projector for gaming. Fallout 3 was glorious on the projector, really helped the immersion factor. The expansive wasteland really looked expansive

For movies, its nice having the theater. I'm usually fine with a big TV, but for that house it was perfect. There was always 5-10 people around, so we had a full theater setup two tiers of couches and chairs
Comfortably sat 10.The next room over was the bar, and downstairs was the climbing wall. We had plenty of fun with lumber in that house

Cool! Those buildings are really cool lookin. And I like the soft spheroid trees!

Nah no hurt feelings

As a mechanical engineering student, most of my modeling these days is not "pretty" like modeling for games is. Unfortunately its been several years since I have had time to do any games-related modeling/mapping

Sadly that car is the prettiest thing I've done in a long time!

Probably because I don't really know what I'm doing with it

Just watched a couple tuts on youtube and did a render.
And yes, I know the model sucks. And the render sucks. maybe I shouldn't have posted
I've got probably 50 or so hours in that model, just wanted to show off something since I really don't get to do this much anymore

a car model I did a while ago, recently got VRay and gave it a whirl. Car obviously needs a lot of work/details (windows, door seams, trim, grille/lights, interior, etc) but I got busy and never finished it. It is modeled in Rhino3D (all NURBs!) and rendered with vray for rhino, just on a simple infinite plane with a sun. Just basic color diffuse with some reflection/refraction.

Compaq CQ61-420US.
Athlon II M320 dual core, 2.1ghz
3gb ddr2 ram
250 gig 7200rpm hdd
super multi dvd burner
Radeon HD 4200 integrated vid card...
and one dead pixel smack in the middle of the screen

Doesn't really bother me much tho.
Reformatted it first thing and threw windows 7 pro on it, I'm liking 7! Pretty nice.
Already have all my software for school installed, it all works great! Except photoshop doesn't close right, goes unresponsive. Oh well.
Got it for $420 from newegg

Way worth it.
Also got a Logitech M505 mouse to go with it, but it isn't here yet. And a targus feren backback from newegg(absurdly nice for $23...) to hold the laptop and my notebooks.
Finally, no more waiting for a computer in the lab at school!!

Nothin' wrong with a holiday that doesn't try to sugar coat it. Just get wasted. Maybe wear some green. Most people will be too drunk to notice if you aren't anyways

I do pay attention to the gameplay that's precisely what these videos show, and OMG this looks VERY bad.
I agree... None of the gameplay videos have impressed me, all have just left me thinking.. this AI is thick as hell. The most recently posted ones are the worst, and unless they're just glitches.. I'll pass.
