Other than the "I'm wearing a jacket that is way too small for me" syndrome, yeh doesn't look like it.

It's like all the other obsidian games. Also if think the game sucks try to play at least till novac, the game gets significantly more interesting afterwards.
That's where I'm at. Was trying to clear the basement of the rocket place from the stealthboy supermutants, forgot what they're called... But that shit is hard. Had a revelation just to keep planting mines all over the fucking place and let them blow themselves up, but haven't had time to play it again. I have a feeling I won't be playing any games for the next 2 months

I didn't say I hate the movies. I just think they are overrated. The Dark Knight ranked #2 on IMDB's top 250 when it released. [Blocked Image: https://migrationtest.mapcore.org/public/style_emoticons/default/mapcore_smilies/emot_shakehead.gif]
It's still #10. It is the tenth best movie of all time. Better than all the Star Wars movies. Better than City of God. All the LOTR's, Casablanca, Goodfellas, Fight Club, Matrix, Silence of the Lambs, Se7en, Memento, It's a Wonderful Life, Dr. Strangelove, Leon.
[Blocked Image: https://migrationtest.mapcore.org/public/style_emoticons/default/mapcore_smilies/emot_shakehead.gif] indeed!

[email protected], i quite liked the old batman movies and I liked the new ones. I feel for all of you that didnt think it was awesome, because thinking something awesome is awesome is an awesome feeling

Don't feel bad for me, I have an enormous list of movies I love! TDK is simply not one of them

It's the "closer to reality" thing that kills it for me. I like the approach, it is just poorly executed. It tries to be realistic and then some completely nonsensical/asinine/impossible thing happens which completely breaks the flow and immersion of it for me. Every five minutes I would be saying "what?! what the fuck just happened? Why did he do that? Why didn't they just... ? STOP BEING A FUCKTARD, BATMAN!!"
He came off as just an idiot with a lot of money to me, the guys who dressed up in "hockey pants" and went fighting crime were more interesting and inspiring to me than some phenomenal idiot rolling around in millions of dollars worth of gear and CONSTANTLY fucking up, and groveling about how cruel life is. I want to kick him in his throat, maybe it'd dislodge that cement mixer he tried to deepthroat.
Rant over. Enjoy the sequel

Dark Knight was awful
I'll take mino's comment one further and say it is THE most overrated film I've ever seen.My problem with it is they give it a serious/realistic tone, then all this stupid shit happens that makes no sense. Like people tethered to airplanes and being yanked out of a window by it.

Batman Begins was far superior IMHO, since ridiculous shit doesn't happen constantly. And the plot was much more interesting, straightforward, and coherent.
Joker was the only thing that was decent about DK, and well, Heath is dead.

I bought Bioshock, both STALKER games, and Bloody Good Time for under 20 bucks. Omaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

Now I just need to find time to play all these in addition to FO:NV

Wait, how did this conversation turn from the current state of the industry in relation to budding developers/modders for PC and/or console to the invention/innovation/birthing/relevance of a genre like 25 years ago?
From this passing comment in the article?
QuoteThe PC is the place where great game developers are born, even—and maybe especially—where great console game developers are born.
Which is immediately followed by:
QuoteHalo, Mass Effect, Call of Duty…PC developers first.
I don't see any reference to Zelda, Mario, or Nintendo at all.

I think it's safe to say that the relationship between PC and console game developers in 1985 isn't really comparable with the developers today.

it's the bodum caffettierra. i have to get another kind of coffee though. my current one is to fine crushed and too much powder ends up in the cups.
You need a burr coffee grinder and whole beans. There is no other way!
Nice press though. I have a bodum as well, and it's actually a recent purchase! I got the double walled one

I'm a bit of a coffee aficionado/freak. I used to get lots of weird looks around school because I carried around a proper thermos and coffee cup, not one of those garbage insulated cup things that keep it warm for about 10 minutes and you can't even smell the coffee cuz it has a lid on it! AUUGHHh its like drinking coffee thru a straw. Intolerable.

wait, all those buildings are on one 128x128 diffuse?
can we see it? -
I agree with sentura, except possibly on the last one. Last one is amazing. Might be more amazing with color, but it doesn't leave me longing for color like the others

-
Could that just be the fog? I think the fog looks a bit out of a place, usually that kind of dense ground-fog is when its cold, dark, and wet.. it doesn't look particularly cold, and it certainly isn't dark or wet.
I love the vivid colors, and (where there is no fog) the nice contrast. If you look at the third screen from the bottom, the bottom right hand corner of it is fog-free, the shadow is nice and dark and the tree is lively. Towards the top-left there is lots of fog, and the shadows and colors are desaturated and de-contrasted, everything is muted.

Just want to say, Taylor, that I agree with you in that I think anyone who spends real money on a fuckin virtual hat is an idiot. I would never do such a thing. The only DLC I've ever paid for was a couple extra songs for rock band a few years ago, and that's actually functional content, not virtual Barbie.
But the fact is... people are idiots. staggering numbers of them are complete morons. You probably know some, cough-d3-cough.
Also, these idiots have money. Who knows how they got it, but they did. Probably a drooling contest or something. We, the modding community(which I am completely not a part of besides hanging around here), have the opportunity to benefit from this! And why shouldn't we?
One thing to note, is this is nothing different from all the other DLC systems out there, except that modders can make money from it. so its either:
big producers make big money selling hats to fools.
big producers make big money selling hats to fools, and some modders get some scraps thrown their way too.
Take your pick. DLC ain't going anywhere, not with that kind of cash flow.
(I hope I didn't offend any hat-owners in here :derp: )

Correction, do you have any of those in desktop size! They are all fantastic.
I highly recommend everyone go check out his flikr, there are a dozen more Iceland photographs on there that are just as jaw-dropping as the ones he posted!
Fantastic photos. Well done, sir.

the CG trailer for the demon hunter was stupid as hell. Horrid dialog.
Dude, all of those cg trailers for the various classes are AWFUL. Honestly, the Demon Hunter one was better than the wizard or monk's.
Quote from twizIs it just me, or are those trailers introducing the monk and the wizard *really* poorly done, cheesy/corny? It looks like a fan-made machinima, not something that should be on blizzard's website..

haha seriously? You're against a way for the mod community & budding developers to make a little cash along the way?
For stuff like map retextures or skins or shit like that, it would be client side only. Same with any 'custom' sounds. If you didn't want any thing but regular old TF2, no hats, no retextures, no whatever, you should be able to have that, for sure. But not allowing people who want to spend money on custom stuff just because it's "shameless monetization"?
I don't see the problem with a TF2 player wanting a hat/new fountain/giant purple dildo instead of the wrench, being willing to pay a couple bucks for it, and a modder actually receiving a portion of that couple bucks for spending a few hours modeling a giant fucking purple dildo. Maybe three, the animations can be tricky on those.
