You really need to give some areas a more specific look, everything looks the same which makes it less immersive and harder to play (navigation). In some areas it's going to mean you'll have to change quite a bit of the looks, just a little damage or collapsed houses here and there won't do it, so it's hard to comment on anything else so far.

":2gktkt9s]Best things in life are free!
Key to happiness? Is doing what you love at work. Days will fly by, and you'll be rewarded accordingly, cos since you're working on what you love and you're passionate for the results are bound to be great! What motivates me is my short term goals AND long term goals. What makes me get up at morning are my long term goals what keeps my going are my short term ones. There's nothing more satisfying that going home at night with a nice feeling of accomplishment of a nice day of work. Fortunately, for me both those short/long term goals are in perfect coordination and both flowing along on the same tide.
For those who didn't get the message of the video and started babbling how you wouldn't even be able to fart in life without money, that is not the point of this thread nor of that video!
The point is, you don't start waving around a bill and get peoples motivation, money is NOT what drives us, it's our freedom and our satisfaction.
The video DID say that money is a motivator, just not the only one. He said that employers need to offer a minimal reward to get the worries about money off the table, even for cognitive, creative tasks.

jenno: the patterns of the wood continue in the panel, which makes it obvious you just put edges on a textures. it doesn't look like a separate piece of wood. besides that, i like

waterguns, black spraypaint, a camouflage net, supplies, a new sleeping bag, a black ski mask, a flashlight - it's waterwars time again! and we're all taking it way too serious

To be honest, i really wouldn't know about the climate in the game industry right now (it's been years since i tried getting a job there) but i do know a little about getting freelance contracts in the art world in general. First of all, don't send email. Go places, meet people, call people and only then send an e-mail. It's way to easy to say no on the phone, and people will generally trust people only after they've met them. Besides that i can only think of less important pieces of advice, like only use 10 or less images in your portfolio. But the most important thing is the first. I remember, and i don't think i've ever told anyone about this, that when i wasn't even a decent leveldesigner, i applied at Guerrilla Games (don't even know if they still go by the same name, they're the guys that made Killzone). I just went there with my crappy portfolio on a burned CD, and asked for a meeting. The level designer guy was away at the time so i didn't get it, but even though my portfolio was below par, they called me later and asked if i wanted to send them updates of my portfolio, they wanted to keep track. This won't seem to be much, but when you think about it, they put effort into it. They didn't just turn me down, even though i practially just started. Enthusiasm is everything, show it.

And I really dont want to hear "its people killing people and thats bad!" because I can sure as hell tell you this isnt the only killing in the world going on right now, or ever.
As if that means that killing people isn't bad. It just means more bad. I also really don't buy the whole 'we can't really judge' thing because we have to as good as we can, because we have to vote for the people that want to continu this war or for the ones that don't. Even though this judgement may be based on almost nothing.

Only thing i'd like to add to the (great) feedback above is that i'd post less screenshots. Most important thing i've learn about presentation is use 15 images maximum, people will lose attention

We do have scissors, but we're also highly trained drug users. I once cut all the branches of a tree when i was on LSD (so that we would have sunlight in the garden again), and nothing happened. Just more sunlight.

Definately not my kind of music, but well done, and you've got a good voice. I don't know if this is the final version, but i'd change two things. First of all, i'd go for a more straightforward kind of singing, at some parts there's too much oh-oh-oh-ooooon (at 2:24) for example. I don't think it fits this song, has enough drama already
. Also, i'd definately lose the background singing. Second thing is the production. Some instruments can barely be heard, they're background only. As a groundrule, i also keep in mind that all instruments should add something of their own, have their own moments. If you can lose an instrument and still have the same song, then do it. But overall it's very tight, post some more! -
Even though i don't agree with him, not telling other people what to feel (or think, for that matter) seems like a sane point.

I used to live with some friends and we all bought a projector together, and you can't put a price on those things. It makes watching movies so much more enjoyable, especially if you have a few friends over. I'd say borrow a suit, ask around, and buy the projector anyway. It's one of those things you cannot imagine missing if you haven't had one, like DVD quality before you ever watched a DVD. But just watch a movie on VHS now....

it's gonna take a while, we're all graduating right now. plus, this place and the garden have been left for dead for years, so it's filled with trash, and it was completely overgrown with plants before i went berserk. but we're gonna have a swimming pool, a trampoline (next to the pool), a porch with hammocks and a ping pong table, and lots of plants

Just rented a big building (10x20 meters) for painting and building a sound studio, for 150 euro's a month!
